I ha e had only good experiences with the Fort Lauderdale bldg dept plans examiners and their inspectors. Fort Lauderdale is a great place to work and do business.

Service At Comfort Zone

One of the best and quickest building departments in Broward. My permits get approved in the first submittal every time so fast and efficient. Definitely my favorite building department to work with A/C Change Out Permits.

Very rude customer service by Carmel (not sure if that's how you spell it). I called the building department to ask a question and she said in a very rude way "You need to talk to someone else, I cant help you". I could not believe how rude this woman was. For someone who answers the main line for the building department, you would think they would be nicer and also knowledgeable regarding how to go about submitting a tie down for a job. Will defiantly be contacting the chief of the building department to complain about this matter.

Excellent Building department in my opinion and I have dealt with a lot of them. The line moves quickly at the department. Reviews happen in a reasonable amount of time. The inspectors are nice and dependable. They have an excellent online service for checking the status of permits and they have people available at the office to answer simple questions or to check on the process. Short wait times in general.
