We recently had our daughter's 4th birthday party at Darby Acres and could not have been happier! We had a good-sized crowd with 15 4-year-olds plus parents and grandparents and everything went off without a hitch. The decorations they did were out of this world. They were done tastefully, and were perfect in my opinion. We did the farm tour and the bunny corral and small animal touch and feel. We also did the monkey and joey encounter. The guide was excellent and Darby was excellent as well. All of the staff were very attentive to our guests and the kids had a blast. Everything was clean and the animals are all very well cared for. It couldn't have been better. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this farm and safari. My tour guide Dawn was extremely knowledgeable. Absolutely reserve all the special side animal encounters so incredibly worth it. I have toured A LOT of farms and zoos and none compare to the beauty of this one. The enclosures are absolutely state of the art. Dawn’s observations and stories on each animal were fascinating. She truly loves what she’s doing and it shows. I would be remiss if I didn’t discuss the farm hands. There were several cleaning animal enclosures, doing hard laborious tasks and all with smiles on their faces. Cleaning animal waist is not a joyful experience no matter how much you love your job. Nonetheless, these folks were kind and professional and really took pride in their jobs. The farm and safari are actually two separate entities. Safari had eclectic, personalized enclosures and some of the sweetest Great Pyrenees dogs that you will ever meet. Farm had thousands of instagram worthy photo ops. It does have some minor hills (and this comment is simply for people with knee issues and not a complaint in the slightest) and this is North Carolina which is full of hills. It has a great play area near the parking lot and kudos to them for having a sand box with actual dirt. This a rarity in todays times and was truly appreciated by the many young kids. Extreme safety was placed on the horse rides for the young children and overall Dawn was the perfect tour guide. Last but not least, this is a family owned business, meaning that their home is physically on the property. Advanced registration is absolutely a necessity. The complaints on the other reviews are simply unfounded. For the safety of the animals and the family members living members living on the farm, advanced registration is a reasonable request. I cannot recommend this little gem enough. Best part of Charlotte NC ever!

We had such a great day at Darby Acres Farm & Safari. Each tour lasts about an hour and is well worth the admission charge. Tour Guide Dawn is awesome at the Safari. She is very friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. We loved seeing all the animals, feeding them, and even holding some. Berlin the alpaca followed us all around. Tour Guide Olivia was awesome at Darby Farms. During our trip around, we were followed by pigs, geese, and roosters. My daughter loved the pony ride. All in our group enjoyed both tours, including my daughter who was celebrating her birthday. The guides are fun, the animals are well cared for & healthy, and the price is very affordable. Thank you to the family for sharing their beautiful farm. We will definitely be back for another visit.

Great, interactive fun. My daughter (2 yrs) got to pet and feed various farm animals and her older cousins got to ride a pony at the end. We all had a great time 😊
