It was closed. Pond was probably dead as it was engulfed in green algae. No chance of fishing here. Lady seemed to be bothered I was inquiring about it.

Great place, thanks again Paul for letting us catch some very nice trout. We are cooking them up for dinner tonight, wish I could have brought my daughter she would have loved it.

Took the kids here to get them some exposure to trout fishing and really had a blast!! The owner and his helper are extremely friendly. They let us use there bait because ours wasn't working for us, they also gave us a few tips on our setup to make sure we caught plenty of fish.

Hemlock springs is a wonderful place to visit. We left with four Rainbow trout for about 15 dollars! The owner is a very laid back, friendly mountain local. Be advised, all of the phone numbers that we found online were not correct. Also, you will be cleaning your own fish (due to local environmental protection laws) and the owner may not have any poles available to rent. Cleaning is very easy. Remove the head, split the fish up the belly from the anus, remove all entrails, and scrape off the scales. You can literally accomplish all of this with a pocket knife and find all kinds of instructions online. The farm is basically in the owner's backyard. I still highly recommend this trout farm to visitors and locals of all ages! ESPECIALLY if you're staying at Massanutten. It would cost two people about a hundred bucks to fish at the Massanutten resort, where you could instead fish at Hemlock springs to the west (we coupled it with a trip to WalMart) and just pay 4.50 a pound to fish yourself with no license or permit whatsoever! It was my girlfriends first experience at a trout farm and we loved it!

Only open on weekends last I heard, give them a call to verify if they don't answer leave a message and they will respond.
It is always open. If you go there and the owner isn`t there sitting out by the trout ponds knock on the door of his house.
