I've had my framed print now for over a year now, and it's held up wonderfully. They were patient, helpful, and attentive when consulting with me about the 6ft print I wanted to frame. There was an issue with the print I gave them, and they gave me my options and still framed it perfectly. Best price in the Bay Area by far and 100% worth it.

Setting up a design appointment was straightforward. The design appointments ensure that there's plenty of space for air circulation indoors (in addition to the mandatory masks). Person we worked with really knew their stuff and was very professional. Consequently, we decided to move forward with out project with them (despite originally planning to shop around). Now to see if they deliver on the good first impression...

I needed to get an aerial photograph enlarged in a quality, large format print and framed for the lobby in our building. I drove by Fastframe in San Mateo, across the street for years, then I noticed the name changed to Dark Horse Framing. Turns out it is still the same owner, Vonna, she is just no longer a franchise. She enlarged the image 30" x 36" and matted it in an oversize matting and a non-glare acrylic cover that is light filtering. The best part about the framing was that she came over to our building with several samples to test with the brand new woodwork trim. We ended up using a very large solid ash moulding that was custom stained to the perfect match. The boss was happy, our designer was too. Lobby complete!

I first met Vonna (the owner) seeking framing for my San Francisco Limn Gallery exhibition in 2004. I had very little knowledge of the options available to a local artist and she provided me with alternatives that ranged from budget conscious to museum quality finishes. I've continued to rely on Vonna's expertise and trend knowledge to keep both my work and exhibits fresh! She makes the experience both fun and educational. Expect nothing but the best one-on-one service.

Questions & Answers

My son went to Cooperstown for a baseball tournament last summer and we have a bunch of pins a few baseballs and a bat. Is there a way to frame all this together? Thanks in advance.

Tony- Yes, we can do a baseball memorabilia shadow box for your son's treasures. You may also want to bring in a photograph of him from the tournament to include in the box. We have some great examples on our Instagram feed @Darkhorseframing and on our Facebook page. Thanks for checking us out~ Vonna

I also have a picture that has some damage, the glass is cracked and the mat has a stain on it, no damage to the frame or print. What is your recommendation?

Yes, we can use your frame and just replace the acid free mat and install new glass. You can choose from Premium Clear, UV coated Conservation, Anti -Reflective, Non-Glare, Museum and all Acrylic options too. Try to put some masking tape over the crack , and if possible a Q-Tip between art and cracked glass to prevent further damage in transport. We will be happy to remove the glass and dispose of it for you.

I won an autographed Giants jersey at an auction and I need to have it framed. Do you frame jersey? How much does it cost?

Do you sell custom bathroom mirrors?

Juan Ernesto Rodriguez | Aug 28, 2018
Vonna Long | Aug 28, 2018

Juan - Yes, we make custom vanity mirrors, and have thousands of frames from which to choose. Just bring in your vanity measurements, wall and any sconce dimensions that you may want to consider in your design. You can also bring in paint, tile and cabinet samples. We can make regular float mirrors and various thickness of beveled edges too! We will lend out samples if you need to view the frame in your home also. The entire project can be done in about 10 days. Thanks for checking us out. ~ Vonna
