The Wi-Fi is absolutely ridiculous here, as I believe it’s the same at all AC library branches. It requires you to click the “agree” button every hour or so… never seen any other public Wi-Fi network be so obnoxious! To the people complaining about homeless in the reviews: there’s lots of homeless, everywhere. Complaining about hygiene does nothing but make you look petty. Maybe go somewhere other than a library, which is one of the only places these people can go during the day where they won’t get hit with a trespassing charge. It’s called compassion and empathy. That being said, the staff has none either. Some of the rudest group of people I’ve encountered here in the Bay Area. If you can’t handle the job, maybe don’t work at the library. Also, having one staff member to assist with the book checkouts sure would speed things along. Can’t imagine how children are supposed to figure out self-checkout on their own. Finally, the selection is rather lacking. I only added a second star because the kids section looks pretty large, and I love the wing that’s full of historical California stuff. Some day I want to make an appointment to browse in there! If you’re learning a foreign language, go somewhere else. Not worth your time at all.

Nice library. Great setting right near Central Park and Lake Elizabeth. Seats with outlets are sparse. Note the hours and don't try to go on a weekday morning!

Amazing place to study and borrow books. They've got a huge catalog of options and tons of seats. You can even book private study rooms. The entire library is quite spacious and well designed.

Place is huge and it's awesome. It's like a 5 min walk from the ac transit line 99 bus stop by Kaiser. Its beautiful and big. Bathrooms are nice. 2 floors. And it's long cool part is you have the lake right next to it. One of the best places I seen so far. Plenty of parking Alameda county library.

Monday through Friday, between 8am and 4:30pm, bring the books to the loading dock by the administration wing of the building (the end of the building closest to Paseo Padre). There's a loading dock in a gated area where you can drop off the books. Just ring the doorbell.
Yes there is a book drop

I recommend you CALL the library and ask the reference librarian for assistance. Perhaps they can assist better than here - which is monitored by Google volunteers.

No I don't believe so, and it isn't open on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day either...
Yes
You need a California ID, from any city/ county in California to open a library account. They will let you have limited library borrowing privileges (I believe two items--books, dvds, etc) until you bring in a piece of mail or bank statement proving your permanent address. Then you will have full borrowing privileges (many items, access to iPads and laptops, tons of dvds and many, many books). It's worth starting a library account here and Fremont is a great library with many materials, resources and a cozy, relaxing atmosphere. I've seen people work, read and recreate there the entire day! **You can also have a limited card if you are from out of state/ visiting from another country. I believe absolutely everyone is given internet access privileges, whether you have a valid ID or not.
Do you mean shredding?
