Friendly and fun environment! I needed something to put my new cards, mat, and dice into so I stopped by Davis Cards and Games and they had the perfect case for me! After buying the case I was able to enter the playing area without an extra charge. I played magic with a couple of locals on free commander night and had a fun time.

I ordered some games and dice online from Davis Cards and Games. Not only did my order come super fast but the communication was excellent when it came to a missing suite number on my mailing information. 10/10 would recommend!

Update: I felt like I should update my review since they opened their new location. Everything below still applies, this is still the best shop in the greater Sacramento area, but now it's even better. They are hosting a ton of TCG tournaments, and they have have regular DnD sessions that anyone can join. The shop is working on a homebrew campaign that sounds amazing and I can't wait to take part. The event space is massive. They have friggin birds, like this place literally couldn't be any more magical, I absolutely love it. The staff helped me craft a deck for the latest pokemon rotation and it's been amazing. It's just overall a very comfortable and friendly environment and I just can't say enough nice things about it. Previous: Best card shop not only in Davis, but probably in all of Sacramento. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. They have an excellent selection of products. They put on a ton of events. I've sold pokemon cards here and they are very fair with their pricing. Best thing is, they don't price gouge pokemon cards and sell them at "market" rate, aka the rate scalpers sell at online. I just bought three packs of the newest pokemon release for 4 bucks each. I can not recommend this place enough. When people say support your local game shop this is a shop I am proud to support.

I don’t think it’s fair to charge to sit and play games in the store. It kind of feeds to the idea that you have to have money to have fun aside from the already major payment of gathering material to play games. When I went with the boy the guy in the front said we could go in the back to open our cards. When entering the playing area, a lady told us that we had to pay to play in there or had made a 15 dollar purchase. I was sad but then felt good because we spent 20ish dollars there. However, as I said that the lady went “each. That only gets one of you in here” Could she not see that we were just trying to have fun there? It wasn’t like we were trying to be bad people when hanging back there. It was evident I was excited because it meant that we could stay in there. However, she was not so nice about it. For the first time going in there, it was a bad vibe. It’s a shame because it didn’t feel so inclusive.

Probably. Definitely worth a shot
Staff & customers must remain masked. Staff keep social distancing. They expanded online presence so you can order pick up or home delivery. Very responsive on phone.
Yea you probably could bring it in to get checked or better yet drop by at 7 on thursday Friday and get help from some yugioh players there
They have many old sets of Magic, going back to unlimited. All of their inventory is online as well.
Yes.
You should decide for yourself. I only got into Magic because I play it with friends. If you want to learn, i believe the dueling network is a good place.
