I was very upset. First time I took my foster dog Tanner. I wanted to take him somewhere different, because our normal walk was getting mundane. Of course I had him leashed with his vest. We had just started, and all of a sudden a lady with her two dogs(not leashed), ran up barking to my dog Tanner. She was saying, lay, stop, and they didn’t listen. I had to pick Tanner up,(he’s 65 lbs). I have scratches on my legs from her dogs. I asked her to call them off, but she kept saying they were friendly. Her name was Karen. When I expressed my opinion, and concern, she said she’s been walking that trail with her dogs for a year, with no issues. Karen told me, “If you can’t control your dog, don’t bring him here”. Seriously! Tanner was on a leash! It looks like a beautiful trail, but it needs to be monitored. There’s a leash law here, correct? Very frustrating

Good trail for a longer hike. Pretty steep terrain makes it ideal for a workout. Towards the top, it has switchbacks with picnic tables along each to rest or eat lunch. Great scenery, and it goes all the way to the top of Glassford hill so you have a great view of both sides of the valley. Great for hiking and experienced bikers.

I'm very grateful they set this area aside and created some new trails, as well as a parking lot. Amazing views, clean, well-maintained trails. Great place for a nice hike!

Worth the hike to the top. The switchbacks have picnic tables so you can rest if needed. There are a few grades that are step, but can be done by even novice hikers. Just take your time and do it at your own pace, and you'll make. Enjoy this wonderful hike!

Questions & Answers

This is an old volcanoe that blew it's top. Has anyone read about that? Any signs on trail? I'm pretty certain that what I am saying is correct.
