Well you might like the place if you enjoy sleeping inside on a bunk bed versus the cold hard concrete outside. They do provide 3 meals a day. The food wasnt too great but when I asked them about why they said it is only because they had a back up chef filling in who didnt really know what he was doing, and normally they have world class chef Gordon Ramsay cooking for them but he was out sick for a few days.

So far my stay here has been good. I do wish that there was a little bit more food to be offered as I normally eat only once a day.

This place helped me out a lot. And i was Totally grateful for their services! Until my car was broken into. There are people camping outside that scope out your stuff. I saw some of them wearing my stuff. You would think that they would have security watching the parking lot. Someone had enough time to break my back window, take things from the car and open the hood, but the ding dong couldn't figure out how to unlatch it, thank goodness. I couldn't leave my car all open and unlocked that way so i decided to sit in the car until morning until I could get my window repaired. Home first told me i couldn't do that. I would have to drive my car off their property and if i did i would lose my bed in the shelter. This was supposed to be a working persons program but its really not geared towards the working person whatsoever. When i was working nighrs, they woke me up at 6, they had head count at night.. it really felt like jail *** Homefirst!! π π

The programs in the shelter are currently full. But you can call and get on a waiting list. Or you can come in and speak to someone about what program would be right for you and see if there is space.
Call the hotline number. What kind of program do you mean??
Not really, they expect the donations to be left off there, only allowed limited items & if say someone is alway cold, due to the staff rarely putting on heat 4 'clients'yet behind front desk they have space heater, the client is not allowed a third coat, unless they first get rid of one of their others, even if still in fair condition
There was a pregnant woman here but she got housing in April just before her daughter was born. Early. Emergency C section. Amber is the woman's name. We are friends. I visit her.
If U give them 2 staff, they will probably stick them in donations area, which those in the shelter don't have ready access to those items, however if U'r outside in car, either near shelter or up near the plant mall & give them out, that would work better, then U know they have gotten them & with the weather changing, I'd already be using my scarf my mum had knit me, however whilst I was still in residence of southall shelter, over a month b4 it was closed, some punks from home first without my knowlage, nor consent stole my belongings from out their storage lock up, umongst them my scatf, laptop, digital camera, grandparents photos, art supplies, paintings ( commissioned works in progress) kitchen items, clothes, I only found out over a month later that irreplaceable items taken by home first personal when southhall closed & I was moved 2 other home first shelter, all staff would say was it came from HR order 2 steal my property #noexcuse

San Jose is the greediest city, full of greedy people, that i have ever been to. And ive been to every continent except S. America. If you need money from these people, forget it. They have a Tesla payment, a $2 million house payment, a Mercedes SUV for mom, and are selfish as hell. Sorry. Just look at the facts.
Yes you can speak to the head person here her name is Pauline
Drive down during normal working hours. Non-perishable items are easier to store than say milk or bread
