Always a fun thing to do, especially with children. Quick trip around the pond. Reasonable price. Below questions asked about buying tickets in advance, I'm not sure if they offer this service.

The Swan Boats at the Boston Commons is the perfect day trip for families. The overall experience is memorable for all ages. My children wanted to go for a second ride immediately after completing our first ride. There was no wait time to ride when we arrived and the ride itself is about 15 mins. Tickets 🎟 = $3 per child, $4 per adult I would recommend bringing out a blanket and spending the day within the garden its ideal for family picnics. Across the street from the garden there is a splash pad and there is also lemonade and sausage/hot dog stands all over the place.

Fun little tourist stop in the Boston Public Garden. It was a busy Saturday afternoon but the line went quick, and it was a nice, affordable way to rest our feet for about 15 minutes. It’s worth checking it out, especially if you have kids.

The swan boats are very reasonably priced, but even if you don’t choose to take a short ride on the boats you must walk around the pond! It is gorgeous, and provides a great backdrop of the city. There are benches to rest on, and ducks and geese to watch.

Would just walk& explore so many good choices.
6/1 - 6/20 10:00 am to 4:00 pm 6/21 - 9/6 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Labor day is the end of the season, but you can still visit the park and the lake after that. It is a beautiful place to visit. Be sure to stop at the Make Way For The Ducklings statues.
Yeah it's a paddle powered boat and the water is maybe 4 feet at its deepest if it is sunny there is no shade tho
green line (all lines, I believe) stop at Arlington St and Boylston St - those would be the closest stops depending on which side you want to go (Common vs Garden). Arlington would be slightly closer to the Swan Boat side.
we delayed our opening due to rain but will be open by 11:30am
The swans stay at the Franklin Park Zoo.

I'm sure they have a competitive application process and a rigorous training program... Yes, you get to drive your own swan boat if you are one of the fortunate people to get hired.
