Beautiful and quiet. Amazing structures, some have been updated for "modern living"... lol, but still very old and ruined. YOU MUST HAVE A PERMIT TO VISIT!!

Quiet, peaceful reflection that this was once a thriving community with over 1000+ inhabitantsat one point in its history.

Is this site open July 4th?

Richard Van Treese | Jul 29, 2019
Grant Gatewood | Jul 30, 2019

The site is open but I'm pretty sure the museum is closed. You'd usually have to check in there. If you do find it, go right on ahead and look around but please respect what's left of it

What does a permit cost? How far of a walk is it?

Bob Hamilton | Jul 29, 2018
Kyra Dawn | Jul 30, 2018

Check in at the Fort Apache museum for permits. They're not expensive maybe like 10 dollars. The walk isn't long at all. Where the dirt road ends the trailhead starts & its viewable from the trail head.
