Useless group of people top to bottom. Months of no answered phone calls, call backs, transfers to dead ends to be denied for a straight year and a half. We need an option to not pay into social security of you cannot access it

Social Security - An American institution offering comfort via government aid to those most vulnerable and in need. JUST KIDDING! The program is broke and our government know full well why. The government itself reallocates nearly half of all funds earmarked for Social Security in their efforts robbing Peter to pay Paul. It’s a system broken at the legislative level. FIVE STARS BECAUSE SOC SEC EMPLOYEES AIN’T TO BLAME - THEY JUST WORK THERE.

Unfortunately had to wait about half of my wait time outside in the sun due to covid precautions, but it’s understandable to a point. Once inside, the security guard was great, super friendly and pleasant. He made all the difference! Once called back, was very quick. Waited a total of about an hour from 9:30a-10:30a on a Thursday. Not bad overall.

I changed my son’s last name and arrived with his birth certificates (original and corrected), his SS card, signed court order for name change, and application for SSA. After waiting an hour and finally sitting down with an employee, I was instantly denied because my 8 year old doesn’t have a photo ID. A piece of paper is flung at me that reads: Medical Record Full name Date of birth Patient ID# Have facility date and sign Okay, fine. I call the pediatrician’s office and they kindly fax it to me at work. I then go back and am denied AGAIN. The document apparently has to be an original (not faxed or copied) and signed in blue ink. Not only did the woman not explain this, but this “requirement” is also not listed anywhere on the OFFICIAL social security website. So here I am wasting gas and time because someone is incompetent and has no customer service skills whatsoever.

Obviously not.
With proper documentation, an order can be placed and a card will be mailed to you.
You need to go in. I suggest going in early in morning. The whole process will be quicker that way.
Mon, Tues, Thurs & Friday the hours are 9am-4pm. Wednesdays the hours are 9am-12 pm. The hours are listed on their website
I think so. They have a drop box inside as well. But it's nice to talk with someone just in case something gets overlooked. Sometimes a short fluke line happens. I was in and put within 25 minutes. 😊
No, I just went down there thinking there was and there is not a place
I would make an appointment to come in and talk to someone. Can't ignore you, if you're right in front of them.
It is a scam hang up because they will always send you something in the mail. Please take my advice and do not even speak to them. Hope this is helpful have a blessed day.
No you don't have to set up an appointment but there is a form for you to fill out when you get there but you can take a number and wait your turn
Yes you have to be there in person to change your name
The medford social security office is open For walk in appointments
Card will be available after two weeks, there was a queue but moved quite well and didn't have to wait very long
We Went to to the social security in Medford Oregon today. They are open for walk-ins. Face mask is required and only 8 people are allowed in all times.
You need your physical ID and application which is called an ss5 if you do not want to mail in your physical ID you need to get a medical record that is signed and dated by your doctor's office if you're changing your name you have to send in those documents also so either the marriage license or the court documents
So most everything's being done through the mail to get a replacement card you need to submit an application which is called an ss5 printed from online at ssa.gov and your ID in the mail if you don't want to send in your physical ID you need to get a medical record that is signed and dated by your doctor's office and send that in with the application
Same here. I let it ring for an hour before calling the Roseburg office and they answered relatively quickly. They can make you an appointment there if your willing to drive.
Just call the local office.
That is a question for ssdi to answer, you will have to call
I work in/near that building and they are not always in the office so that could be part of the issue. They do have a contact number posted on the glass door, not sure if that is what you are using. Also, you may want to reach out on-line via chat/email and/or contact the National number.
I do not know. You should call or visit the SS office.
Looks closed.
I don't know if they have a fax number. You would have to Google it and find out
Yes I think you can
I would probably just go there... But I'm not sure of your situation.
You can just call them and let them know, they will provide any forms that you need to fill out, if you need to fill out any.
You can only schedule appointments for certain things. Best to call the Social Security Administration first and they can tell you whether or not you can make an appointment. All the best.
In most cases, contacting your local social services office is the best resource.
Best thing to do is make a copy of all of the reports, Social Security has a Dropbox inside the office, drop the forms off there but keep a copy, date and time your copy of when you left it there.
I think as long as the person in question has the proper ID/forms to get a replacement card, it shouldn't be a problem. I don't know for sure though.
Correct, take a number it is, though in some cases you are able to make an appointment though you must do so through the central SSA phone system. The great thing about that system is they will call you back rather than keeping you on hold
Yes
8 to 5
Go to your local ss office and ask for one you need Id
You need the birth certificate, a piece of mail an there is a paper you have to fill out while you are waiting. The security guard will tell you were the, paper is and answer any questions you my have.

You will to be able to call the local SSA office number, The 800 number can transfer you. What office are you trying to reach? I may have the number.
They did mine automatically. It didn't change until I became 66 y.o.
Yes, just call the local social security office and they will make an appointment for you.
You can, but there is also a form you can fill out and just drop off at the social security office to make that change. You do not have to wait in line for an address change.
Go to the ofice of ssi building take a number and ask them
How long were you married? Needed to be married 10 yrs.

No, social security will not email that information. You can have it mailed to you, or go into this also security office and pick up a copy.
Social security will not email that kind of information. You can either request to have it mailed to you, or go to social security and pick up a copy.
6 months before.
You can ask if they will give you a Detailed Earnings Query. They may be reluctant to give it to you, but it is generally about a 15 year or so work history. It is general, only reporting earnings by year.

Birth certificate, valid driver's liscense, and if you have it, an old Social Security card.
Yes, both your passport and your Driver's license are to prove your identification, the burst certificate is to prove your age.
Contact social security, you will need to provide proof of identification, usually a birth certificate and a valid driver's license. They can replace it for you.
Need to change my phone number .
Did not receive 1099s for 2017. Can you resend them?
Yes. You can also request via automated phone system and online though mySocial Security on their website
Yes
Yes, you will be there most of day, with out appointment, it's first come first serve. The early the better
1st I would call as nd make appointment, also make sure ask them to send the application, next get copies of all your son's medical records. List of all doctors... it's going to be hard....Also they will take your income and if you make too much he will not qualify....My daughter try to get it for my granddaughter, she was denied... that being said, each case is definitely. Good luck
Congrats, the sooner the better, take all documents, passport ect..
Most likely you will waste time calling. Set up a online account threw social security, lots of stuff can get done online
