The night sky in the sisiques is quite amazing.with no city lights. It's a very active place. You might want to grab some blankets and pillows and definitely a friend you're going to want to have someone backup your story. You won't be let down that's for sure. Enjoy your evening

Visiting a friend who lives off the narrowest road, deep into the wilderness and yet only a few miles from the national forest. I've never felt more connected to the serene quiet and beauty. Photos don't do the picturesque views justice. I could live here.

6000 to 8000 ft mt shasta is over 14000 ft
Lot of canopy even at the top of Hardesty. Difficult for a good view unless you get to Eagles Rest, Sawtooth, Mt. June etc.... then most of the cascade range is visible on a clear day.

Well you have to go over to the coast from yreka then up on 101 to the redwood forest
They were possibly culls or rotten. But that is an excellent question. Following a forest fire a couple yrs. Ago they logged every thing except the old growth cedar which are dead. Over the last couple yrs they are falling over or being blown down. I inquired into milling some or cutting for firewood and was told no with no explanation. Government b.s. is only thing I can think of.
