BUYER BEWARE Recently bought orchard hay from Mr. Johnson. Before making the 4 hour roundtrip we called to make sure they had similar bales as last year, they confirmed they were 120 pound bales. The price had gone up a few dollars from last year but that was to be expected. They were now $46.50 for 120 pound bales. We made the trip and the hay was loaded on the trailer on pallets so we never handled it until we got home (purchased 27 bales). I weigh my hay to make sure I am feeding the right amount to my horses so I noticed I was going through it much faster that I should. So then I weighed some other bales and they were from 63-75 pounds. Myself and my neighbor who also bought hay spoke to Mr. Johnson and he told us they were told they were 120 pounds by their supplier, that they sell by the bale and not by weight and that we could make the 4 hour trip again to return the hay for a refund. He would have no problem selling it to others. To make things worse, 2 out of the 6 bales I have used so far had mold in them. Again I called and Mr. Johnson told me that he could not refund based on pictures I had and I would need to again make the 4 hour trip to return them. His customer service is terrible. I will never buy hay here again. I could have purchased standlee orchard hay 5 minutes from my house for cheaper.

The staff is great. They are very friendly and personable. Ben is a great help anytime you need him as well as Ms Gail. The younger staff are also very respectful I would recommend them to anyone.

To be honest, I enjoyed it even more before they moved. ..the old store had a certain atmosphere about it. That being said, this is one of a vanishing breed. ..the small town seed and feed store...the service was 5 ☆ and you will find things here that will never be found at a big box store...and prices were great...ands you can tell I love this place

I was in a bind with hay, I've felt with them for years now. Spent lots of dollars there. I called explaing I needed hay.i had no way to get any. I was told they'd call the next morning. Well ya know I'm still waiting. Glad I found someone dependable..
