Joined and first package arrived. Opened small package marked sirloin steak tips. Sure didn't look like steak tips. Not even the tiniest amount of marbling. Cooked and was the toughest piece of meat. Tried to cut thin but still inedible. Now with 10 lbs of this quality of food. Canceled membership. If I want expensive tough meat, I'll just go to any of my local supermarkets. Nice enough customer service but I took gamble and lost.

Thank you for the great communication, service, products and flexibility! The customer service, the tips on the website and other great specials are great perks. We love our share. We won’t purchase meats anywhere else. No more buying rotten smelly meat from chain grocery stores. The meat comes with your share’s farmer’s name and location. Same with the fish; captain/vessel and water location. Sign up! You’ll be keeping farmers working and in return you’ll get quality foods that emanate pure pride.

I have been a customer since August of this year. My previous review was taken down. Same complaints. They gave me a credit but haven’t fixed the problems. As I have stated before have many issues that the quality and cuts of meat do not come close to the price they charge. I have been receiving some of the cheapest cuts of meats like roasts and shoulders in three shipments and charged over $234. The sizes and shapes are so inconsistent and small or are butchered very sloppy. I am constantly having to match up cuts of same meat to have enough for my family. The filets I received were two to a package and I received three packages in the one shipment. They weren’t rounded or in one piece. It looked like a dog chewed on it. The briskets; one was flat as a brisket should be and one cut as a corned beef. The portions were so small for my family of 6; The briskets were so off portioned I had to cook both and the amount of fat - left us with one serving each. I have called and spoke with customer service I have changed the selections I cannot take any more packages of 85% ground beef - 6 packages each time I can get that at my grocery store. For $234 or more a month just doesn’t add up. I left two messages and no one has gotten back to me. My share is on hold for now. Very upset very disappointed ☹️ and very dissatisfied 😡

You get what you pay for. Pastured, responsibly raised meat. I've been using walden for about a year now. Switched over from butcher box. Quality of meat doesn't compare. Wanted something more local as well. All meat is labeled. You know the farm it came from. Recently tried turkey for Thanksgiving. It was the best turkey I've ever tasted. So clean and fresh tasting. Cooked beautifully. We did some swanky stuff. It was fun. Pork chops (last photo) flavorful and cook so beautifully. Im big on eating cleanest pork available as its one of the worst raised meats in this country. Also the local cheese and grass fed butter ! Thanks walden for helping us feed our family the best.

Hi Eliane! Yep we can do that, just shoot us a note after you sign up!
Website covers birds for meat purposes- not egg layers
Hi Nicole! It depends on which type of animal, but typically that number is about 50%. On chicken for example, our farmers make about 10x more than industrial commodity farmers. We partner with many different farms in MA - we buy eggs from Anna Houston & Rob Perazzo in Mill River, MA for example, or Peter Heins in Westminster MA for pork; Stephen Hall for chicken in Dracut, and others! We label every cut with a farmer name and town :). Let us know if you have any other questions, we're happy to help!
They do not deliver to NJ
No. They are a CSA, and use local farmers for their meats and eggs.
Also if you pick up in person you can look through what they gave you and ask them to replace cuts you may not want
Once a month or pick up
Yes, read any of the farmers affidavits. Grass fed or pastured is a better definition than organic.
You should email customer service.
