I wish I could find the perfect way to thank you for being so thoughtful. You always seem to know just what people need and want will brighten their day. Caring is such a big part of who you are that I'm sure you're not even aware of some of the little kindnesses you do and what a difference they make. I know your generous spirit has touched my life and more ways then I an count. Thank you is probably something you hear all the time, but today when I say those two words, just know I mean them...more than you know. My husband was so happy at the Highlands, he was only there maybe 10 days, but he felt like all of you were part of his family. His care was super great, the compassion he was shown was over whelming. My husband has been sick for a very long time, when he came home from the highlands he was over the moon with all the love and compassion he was given. Sorry I have to say this but my husband Joe passed away on fathers day June 20th 2021, He is a peace now. I have to say this again sorry but I have been in the health field well over 40 years. I was very happy with the love he recieved at the Highlands in Fitchburg. May God bless all the staff for the excellent care they give their patients and families. Sincerely Joanne Bowen

At first I chose the Highlands as connivence to be close to my daughters work as she will see me when she gets out of work and is close to Westminster where I live alone. I am so happy I did the staff is amazing unfortunately during this time when it’s hard to get help then are short handed. Physical and occupational were great with their knowledge to keep us all moving. Housecleaning staff were the best the upmost to keep our room cleaned and a friendly attitude Activities can’t say enough for everyone of their staff fell in love with all of them . The garden and going outside made all the difference to just get some fresh air. All the CNA were just so efficient can’t say enough. The Nurses tried to do their upmost to get our med on a timely schedule. Bill O’Connor admission director you are the best! Hands down! Just one reminder let’s do something about the food they served I know it’s hard to do old building five floors but toooo much spice . Need more fresh veggies and fruit and please you want us better I know you can do it. Hope to see you all soon not as a patient but as a volunteer if you have me! Thanks again

My significant other spent over a year at the Highlands after a serious traumatic brain injury from a fall. In his time at The Highlands, he greatly benefitted from the entire staff at the facility. He worked with PT, OT, Speech Pathology, Activities, and of course, the CNA and Nursing staff. He was always treated with respect and care. Because of the nature of his injury, there were numerous setbacks. Each time he returned after a hospitalization the staff was wonderful at assessing his needs and picking back up at working towards our goal to get him home again, and all in the middle of the pandemic. Over the year he was at The Highlands, the staff developed a close relationship with him and went above and beyond to help us achieve the goal of bringing him home. He has now been home for 2 weeks, and we are succeeding! If the need for care is to arise again, I know the phone number to call- a big thanks to the wonderful team at The Highlands!

I spent almost two months at the Highlands after having a stroke. The nurses and CNA's were very compassionate, hard working and very attentive. I became friends with a lot of them. The therapist in rehab were fantastic. I had a minor issue with one of mine therapists, but it was quickly addressed and resolved. Their caring attitudes helped to make rehab enjoyable. I would highly recommend this facility for rehab to anyone. I would place my family there without a second thought. I give a rating, based on my experience, of 4.5!
