Great find. Thank you to Cheryl for all the information and the great conversation. Beautiful hikes.

A wild beautiful place so full of wonders and obviously well maintained. Kudos to the trail crew.

Looks like a really cool place but everytime I tried to go all the gates were closed
LW Ridge
Tiger Creek Preserve is a wonderful place to explore the ancient islands of Florida (America's Galapagos). You can explore seven trails from three trail heads (at this time, July 2017). There are more endangered plants and animals on the Lake Wales Ridge then anywhere else in the U.S. You will hike along a pristine blackwater stream, hardwood swamps, hammocks and sandhills. There is no charge for hiking. Parking and maps are at the main trailheads on Pfundstein Road (there is a main entrance just past the George Cooley Trail), and one at the end of Wakeford Road.

Hi Brenda, Unfortunately, no, we don't allow motorized or unmotorized vehicles on the hiking trails.
Hi Bruce, there is not an entrance fee though we always welcome donations mailed to us. The office is closed for COVID-19 safety, so access to the picnic tables behind the office is currently closed. There are benches along the trails. It's a wilderness experience, so there are no facilities (bathrooms or trash containers), and everything is pack it in-pack it out. There are trail brochures at the trailhead kiosks, but you can also download the trail map and brochure to your phone (from our website at https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/places-we-protect/tiger-creek-preserve/ or by reading the QR code at the kiosk). That downloadable map is georeferenced so you can see where you are on the preserve in real time. Just went for a hike this AM and it was gorgeous, so I hope you enjoy! Cheryl
Sorry I have no idea. The conservancy has a website...I was only a visitor there.
Hello, we were just walking the preserve so we don't know about any bears. Maybe check with the nature conservancy. No matter what it is certainly worth going there... it is truly spectacular.
There are no camping facilities at Tigar Creek.
