The Jacksonville Forest trails are a great place to hike. The only reason I didnβt give it 5 stars is because the trails are bit confusing. There are a bunch of trails that intertwine making it easy to get lost. I literally spent an hour searching for the trail back to the parking lot. I might still be wandering the trails if it werenβt for the βfind my carβ feature on google maps π€£

Love this magical forest. Great place to walk/hike in the peace of nature.

There are man paths to choose from and the trails are very well maintained. The opposite side of that is it attracts many visitors. Often times like was the case today, there were more people walking the trails than there was in the city.

Awesome trail system!! ππ Well maintained, super well marked and dog friendly. Hands down my favorite trail of the year. Parking can be a bit tight, and thankful they have a port-a potty in the parking lot too!! Bring your own tissues with you though, as it tends to be out of toilet paper, even though itβs clean! π€·πΌββοΈ Youβll run into bikers, runners, casual walkers, families and the like. During our 4 mile walk Iβd say we crossed paths with 6 folks, but could see and hear others, which makes you feel safe. Great panoramic views at the top πΈ

When I can only hike it alone but I'm constantly seeing other women walking the trail by themselves let's but you should treat something on you even mace no matter where you go be safe
some areas are kinda steep, I'm not sure I'd recommend carrying the wife. haha. it's pretty safe, be sure to lock up your car and dont leave valuables in sight! I always carry a whistle!
No camping is allowed in Jacksonville Woodlands. Its day use
Yes I see people with dogs on the trail all the time. Wish some of them were better at picking up after there pets.
