Jackson campground is beautiful! I was able to get a site, #2, with river views, the rushing water sound day and night. At first it seemed loud, but after about day three it was my friend, soothing and comforting, I hardly noticed it while I slept. The campground was impeccably clean and well maintained except for one important thing. I paid for four nights upon seeing the beauty and tranquility here. Without being informed in advance, I learned the bathrooms were closed due to water problems. During the weekend, the sites were mostly filled, but no bathroom for anyone, what were we supposed to do? That's not just inconvenient in an established campground, it's very difficult for many of us, especially the more elderly ! An outhouse would have been handy! I feel that I should not have paid full price for camping with NO bathroom facilities. Thats one of the most important reasons to stay at a campground!

Beautiful spot on the river with nice bathrooms and running water, but beware the uptight and old-fashioned camp “hosts.” We felt very policed and uncomfortable.

This was the nicest camping experience I have had all summer. The camp host Debbie and David were exceptional. We were able to pay a little extra to stay Sunday so we didn’t have to be out by 10. The bathrooms were kept up so nice. The river right below the campground is exceptional. I am already looking forward to going in September

Beautiful campground in the Applegate river. Weekends are usually reserved in the summer as there are only 8 sites for rent camping. Also a group camp and a few RV sites. We visited midweek so we were the only ones there in the tent campground the first night and one other site was taken the second night. There is fishing in the river for trout and winter run steelhead and Applegate lake is a 10 minute drive away. Also has hiking, swimming and wildlife viewing. Definitely would come back again.

They have to be leashed.
Showers are rarely a camping feature. I recommend you buy a camping shower and then you can bring water up from the river. That'll be your best bet.
