We went to Shingle Creek on a hot Sunday afternoon to take the dog for a walk. The trails go on for miles and there are plenty of places to stop and take pictures or to just take in the all of the green. The mosquitos weren't too bad but they were definitely present. The trails were clear of debris and there we only saw about four other groups two of which were cycling the trails. All I'm all it was worth the visit and we will be back again.

Nice trail, three different pathways! Though none run for that long unfortunately. Great to go see a bunch of different critters, is shaded in some parts of the trail and isn’t too hot despite the summer heat. *Don’t go on the trail that goes left near the beginning of the bridge! It’s right by the highway, go a little further down and turn left as the second set of stairs splits into two directions. It’s pretty nice with several bridges on the trail and you can see the water very clearly, birds too!

Great place to walk, ride your bike, walk your dog and many other things

Great for hiking, mountain biking, and the nature viewing is amazing. A part of the trail is shaded, then it gets super sunny for quite a bit so bring your SPF and water.

Yes
No fee at all.
no! its open until sundown! during summer school for hunters creek middle they were closed during regular "school hours" again but summer school is over and the trailhead gate is open sunrise to sunset. i've been out there pretty late, 20-30 minutes after the actual sunset and can still leave without an issue. i was just there around 6:30-7 last night but i've gone as early as 3-4 in the last few weeks/months since summer started :)
Entrance is behind a school with gates that stay closed until after school hours
The gate behind the middle school is closes until 4ish..depending on when the guy wants to unlock it. Its right on school property so its locked during school hours I think 9 am- 4 pm
Yes it is
The trail is closed during school hours since it is located behind a middle school. But after hours and during the weekend it is accessible.
Yes
Google map will just get you to the middle school. You still have to figure out the actual entrance. So here's how you get to it once you arrived at the middle school. Looking at the middle school from the street, to your left will be a driveway (almost hidden). Take that driveway and go along the left side of the school building to the back. You park in the back of the school. The trail entrance is on the left at the dead end parking. Enjoy.
