This was my first time biking on the Shingle Creek Regional Trail. Did you know..? You can stand right above the ACTUAL headwaters of The Everglades National Park, right here on Shingle Creek Regional Trail?! My whole Florida life, all I ever heard and was taught is that the Kissimmee chain of lakes was the start. That is not true...it starts here in South Orange County at Shingle Creek! Isn't that cool? I think so. It is well protected now, as it should be. The Trail eventually will follow the creek south, but Osceola County isn't there yet. Super fun Geo-caching opportunities. Gators, turkeys, egrets, beautiful flowers blooming, shining waters and the lovely sunset to boot. A lot of homeless folks gather towards sunset, not all were nice! All in all, a wonderful way to be #chasingsunsetswithpowerwoman
