Been here both in the morning with the jogging and cycling crowd, as well at mid-day with the tourist or wedding photo crowd, and evening with the chill or picnic crowd. Beautiful and peaceful park, with a great view of the convergence of the three rivers!

Pretty nice place to see. You can see the cars come out of the Fort Pitt and across the bridge and you can see boats float down the rivers. Will say come during the summer when the leafs are on the trees. I went during mid April and I don't know if any of you live in Pennsylvania but in my opinion when there are no leaves on the trees between October and April and pretty much nothing is green the scenery looks awful. Still a nice place.

Point State Park is great for anyone looking to enjoy being outdoors. The trails are perfect for walkers and runners alike. The trails can take you downtown or to the North Shore where you can dine or access the various sports arenas in the area. The lawn area is good for picnics or playing games with family and friends. If you’re there during business hours, you can check out the museum and learn the history of Fort Pitt. The location of the park allows a person to see many angles of the city as well as the different leisure cruises on one of the three connecting rivers. I always have a nice time while running or sitting near the River. It is very relaxing and the scenery is very calming. I would definitely recommend you visit if you’re in the area.

A great place to walk around and sight see. Absolute must when visiting Pittsburgh. You can see the city, the 3 rivers, the stadiums, a handful of bridges and more. There are bathrooms available close to the fountain (closed during winter). You'll find a wide open grassy area which is nice to have a picnic or just to sit and take all the views in. Ready to watch the sun rise or set? This is a great location for both! Usually not too crowded but when there are certain events, it'll be packed so get there early if you can. There are a few places to park that are fairly close, but you can always park a little further away and catch a bus or take the incline down from Mt. Washington. The T is also within walking distance and there are several places to get great food in the area.

Yes but with exceptions. There is no overnight camping in this State Park with a few historical society exceptions. The park officially closes at 10p.m. but the pedestrian bridge is a through fare for the northside and there are several days during the year that visitors are restricted like artsfest and firstnight and light up night and Independence Day. The fountain is not always on and the park is pretty heavily patrolled by Pittsburgh and State Rangers who are both armed and unarmed.
I did not see anyone fishing. There is a lot of boat traffic and swimmers in floaty.
It's downtown Pittsburgh, across from the Hyatt Regency.
Yeah there is parking near downtown and you can walk from there to point state park.
If you fish near Point State Park be sure and have a fishing license because I've seen game wardens walk around there because it's a state park
