I stayed here with 3 friends on 11/06/2021. It was really cold, but the camp fire held us up throughout the night. It was a great place to relax, be without phones and enjoy quality time with friends. The parking space is pretty big seeing we fit 1 big truck and 2 SUVs. We got there pretty early on Saturday and there were around 4 sites available which was great since we didn't have a backup plan in case it was full. We set up 2 tents, but then decided to set 1 bigger tent instead which fit great. Be sure to take your firewood! We forgot, but drove about 30 min down the mountain and found a small shed where they sold $10 bundles. Great experience and will definitely go back. If you have a small 2 person camper trailer it will fit. The road up there was pretty narrow at times so I don't recommend taking a camper bigger than 16ft since it's one road for 2-way traffic.

A small campground with about a dozen sites. All the sites are well spaced from each other and offer privacy. Surprisingly, it was full on a Thursday night when we visited and we were able to get to the last site. We were able to sleep a few tents and cars on one of the sites. The area is very quiet at night. The restroom facility is very clean. No water source at the camp site.

It's first come first serve. You drive around the circle looking for an an empty camp site. You find one and then go back to the main entrance and fill out the paper with the site #. You put one tab in your vehicle and one on the pole at the entrance to the site you picked so people know it's reserved if you drive away. Its $11/day and check out is by 2 or 3 the next day. (Very remote. Almost no cell service. Recommend downloading the area map before arriving.)
The campground can fill up fast especially near the weekends. Closest is Seneca rocks campground. You can also walk into the woods anywhere along the road and wilderness camp as long as you are 300' of the road. Also just below bear rocks preserve there are some boondocking spots that are outside the wilderness boundary.
Very quiet and private If you want excitement go hiking
