So disappointed. Said they were closed due to inclement weather, but there was nothing wrong at all. Clear skies! Additionally, ran into a couple who drove all the way down from Toronto to check out Boston and Salem. They were pretty disappointed when they saw the sign on the door when nothing was occurring. At any rate, I also saw that there were a ton of portable potties and construction that seem to be going on inside of the camp. Other things are worth checking out in the area, like Downtown. We also went to go see the house of Max and Dani in Hocus Pocus, which is just a few minutes away.

This is the old 1600βs village you really want when you come to Salem! I went during the Salem Night Faire 2021 presented by Black Veil tattoo. This was one of the most wonderful experiences Iβve ever been to! Walking through the village really puts you back in the pioneer times. Highly recommend experiencing the vibes from the Village!

Cute place! You're able to walk thru a couple of the houses. If you're a Hocus Pocus fan, you can see the house of Thackeray Binx πββ¬ Super Cute!!!

This place is small, but really gives you a sense of the first houses built by the settlers after they landed. The houses are all replicas, not originals. The guy at the gate was very informative-you just have to ask- about the fact that these houses would have been constructed in a hurry to provide shelter until more permanent houses could be built. We had a very interesting conversation with the staff about the history of the place (as in 1600s Salem in general), so the staff is informed about history if that's what you're going for. It's also the site of where the opening scenes of the movie Hocus Pocus were filmed. The house of Thackery Binx is here. Apparently, many come to see the Sanderson Sister house, but it's not here since that was stage set up. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting this place.

From their website, they are open June to September with special hours in October. I could not find anything about January, but the site is not paved or heated so probably not open in January
We paid cash at the door. $5 a person. I think it's less for children under a certain age, but we didn't have any with us
Yes I would trust what they say on their website. I only see people in line to get in during specific hours on weekends. Otherwise, it's either closed or used for children summer camps and similar
They're normally open on the weekends but they have events where they do close so when you get closer to your date I would check I hope that helps have fun in Salem
Yes you can walk through on your own. I found it very interesting.
They are closed right now, city is doing over forest river park
