This experience changed my life. I was dealing with so many issues before coming to BoardPrep. I had to do treatment for my job but I never expected to come out of it a completely changed and IMO much better person. The staff, specifically the therapists and coaches, cares deeply about everyone there. It is a small group of people, never more than 20 averaging about 12-15, so you get a lot of individualized attention and treatment. I did TMS to help with some of my anxiety issues and found it quite beneficial. This treatment facility also gives you a lot of freedom to interact with the outside world compared to other facilities, better preparing you for the transition back to regular life once treatment is completed. While I was there we went to movies, out to dinner, on long walks, to a beach meeting in St. Pete, and even to hear the Florida Orchestra in the park, all of which were activities suggested and planned by us. Dare I say we actually had a reasonable amount of fun despite the heavy and difficult issues we were all dealing with each day. This program is 12-step based and from day one you attend AA meetings in the community, which allows you to interact with people who have long term sobriety and become fully immersed in the AA community from the start. I cannot imagine how I would have done at another treatment facility, probably not as well. For the help that I received I will be forever grateful.

I can’t even begin to express what this family boot camp did for me! I was so lost in my feelings and had no what this whole process was going to be like. Will did an amazing job at helping me get through the process and allowed me to talk through my feels. He explained the process in detail and what we could do as a family to support our loved ones. This program has been life changing for our family and I will be forever grateful!

As a parent, I am extremely appreciative to BoardPrep and the experienced professionals who work there. Quite honestly, there have been ups and downs - progress might not happen as quickly as a parent might like. So learn as much as you can and have patience - it can get so much better. My son is an adult so I did not have much involvement, but always had confidence he was in caring hands at BoardPrep. After more than a year of sobriety, BoardPrep is still a part of his sober community providing continued support and friendship.

My family is very happy with our decision to go with BoardPrep. Starting with Julia who took my first call about our son, I could tell she took the time to understand and make sure it was really going to be a good fit. Other places I called seemed to not know very much other than sales approach. BoardPrep was recommended to us by a friend who is a psychiatrist and we also knew another family that used their services with good results. Our experience was truly exceptional, the sincere caring and communication. We also liked the family boot camp very much with James and Mindy. Our son is doing much better now thanks to BoardPrep and our whole family has been impacted positively by his recovery. I highly recommend BoardPrep if you or a loved one are in need of mental health or substance abuse treatment.

There is an alumni activity coming up in January, you can put your email in the website to make sure you are getting the newsletter.
We are excited to announce that TMS is now available for BoardPrep patients! TMS is non-invasive deep brain stimulation utilizing a powerful and sophisticated magnetic coil to enhance or dampen responses in targeted areas of the brain. TMS begins with a brain-mapping session with our Psychiatrist. After that, the sessions are 5-6 days a week and last 20-40 minutes depending on what is being targeting (dampening drug or food craving or anxiety vs. treating depression). We are seeing a higher level of engagement in treatment, as well as lower anxiety with patients who are treated with TMS early.
Sheri, thank you for the question. BoardPrep offers a variety of private clinical services. Funding for services is somewhat individualized with a combination of health insurance coverage and private pay. The admissions office can definitely give you a cost estimate based on a brief phone assessment. Thank you again.
They added TMS last year
Unfortunately Medicare or Medicaid does not pay for treatment at boardprep. Medicare really only pays for psychiatric care as an inpatient in some psychiatric PHP programs. Medicaid may pay for Dacco in Tampa.
You pay high monthly amount and where ever it is you choose to get treatment, make board prep the standard for what any center should NOT be. Stay far away.
Seriously? The disease of addiction is chronic, progressive and FATAL. You are literally fighting for your life and you're worried about dirty sheets and walking barefoot. By the way, I believe walking barefoot gives you dirty feet. Hmmmmm! All of the living quarters have washers and dryers and clients are welcome to act like adults and do their own laundry.
