Whittier Manor - Very poorly run association. Look at the number of units that are for sale as an indicator. They have huge assessments (over $2100 in 2020 on top of their high maintenance fees). They will bully you and take advantage of you if your cognition is not that great and/or you are non-English speaking. Watch their accounting to be sure you don't get slammed with frivolous fees. I would stay, stay away from this place. The reason they had the extra assessments in 2020 was due to their poor financial management causing the maintenance fees to probably go into someone's pocket instead of maintaining Whittier Manor.

Whittier Manor - everything is beautiful, the staff and residents are very very friendly, and the place is perfectly run. This is in an independent condo. They are currently wrapping up a refurbishment of the exterior and are doing a fantastic job.

My mother lives there and does have a two bedroom apartment. There are also 1 and 3 BR units. Buy in options and monthly fees vary and various amenities are included. Best to ask management about specific pricing, but it's not inexpensive.
They have different prices for their units. Best thing to do is call sales at 941-408-2000 they will provide you all the information you need.
No just independent, assisted living, and memory care
All the Lania's have been redone with screens, pets are allowed in the condos, and I believe unit 311 is close to the elevator. But it depends if your talking about 311 in the Whittier building or 311 in the new Barkley building.
You sign up for Medicaid thru The department of family and children. This is a Assisted Living Facility Memory Care Facility. Not a government office.
