If I could give negative stars I would. I’ve called ten times today alone and countless other times trying to speak to someone about my registration and have been hung up on every single time while being on hold for at least 15 minutes each time. What a joke.

Polk county now has 2 locations with the registration self service machines where you don't have to wait in line and it prints your registration sticker in 2 minutes. Lakeland and Northridge.

No, since he will be purchasing his own car he will need to get his own plate. The initial plate fee is going to run around $225.00, then he will be paying 85.75 for the title transfer plus the registration for the year [which the price depends on the weight of the vehicle]. So a bit over $300 for everything, without seeing the exactly paperwork, weight, etc, That's at least an estimate

Without seeing any paperwork, It counts as a title transfer, which generally runs you about 85.75. You'll need either the owner of the vehicle there to add yourself to the vehicles title or a POA for the owner so you can act on their behalf.
