Really enjoyed the walking trails they are well done. There are picnic tables and boat ramp also. We enjoy kayaking here as there is a lot of area that you can get to and wildlife to see from a kayak.

My female friends and I were there for lunch and took pictures of our experience together. It was sunny, quiet, and we were able to use the picnic tables to have a pleasant afternoon .

Big appreciation for little spots like this in Lakeland! Peterson Park is a gem that is definitely also pretty hidden. It’s tucked away behind quaint Cleveland Heights neighborhoods and CH golf course. You can enter it by turning between the YMCA and Cleveland Heights animal hospital. I can’t even properly word how gorgeous this area is. There are gazebos and grill out spots, baseball fields and a few other activities, along with plenty of parking. And then there’s the boardwalk. Holy moly. The boardwalk, as one would expect, criss crosses all over one of the many lakes of LAKEland (yes, the name is actually accurate for the area haha). It’s serene, quiet and peaceful but lively and buzzing at the same time (lots of funny bugs, frogs, birds and other flying all around). There are benches to sit on and just enjoy the nature- though do remember you are still in Florida. Some nasty looking spiders love to hang out in areas like this. I am just in love with Peterson Park. It’s such a marvelous getaway right in my own backyard. It’s the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s also a typically much, much less crowded walking/ running option compared to Lake Hollingsworth down the road. Let’s go explore!

Yes
To my understanding yes as long as you take them down and it's non destructive
The park is free. They do have a spring and fall baseball league that charges a fee though. There's also another park near by called common ground that has a lot more to do for kids that's free.
Yes
The open pavilions are fcfs and the screened in one you must put in a request to use it rent only
It will most likely be open the normal hours. In the past, we've had Easter Egg hunts immediately following lunch (which we had on the grounds).
