It took 3 1/2 years of living in the area to discover this area existed- which is upsetting because of how insanely beautiful it is! My friend got married here, and the lake was the backdrop to their ceremony. It could not have been more stunning. I wish I had more pictures. The main building of the rec center is rented out for weddings constantly, and actually had a decent sized ballroom that was perfect for the reception. It also has huge windows looking out in the lake. If you’re not planning to get married or go to a wedding soon, don’t worry. This is still a park area that you can come to anytime. You can actually rent kayaks and paddle boards to take out on the water, or bring your own. There are some other parts of the park that span out far past the main building. I know one has a dog park, and I think there is plenty of room for outdoor activities at all the rest. I was really blown away by just how big this area was, but it’s completely hidden when driving past. A great, great hidden gem!
