It’s a small lagoon where you can rent paddle boats and go around. You used to be able to walk onto the islands across bridges, but the bridges were torn down to fit the new swan boats. The cement retaining wall is falling apart in some places. The water is mostly clean looking, so that’s a plus. Overall, it’s not a destination but a place to chill if you happen to be in the area.

Haven't experienced the swan paddle boats yet, but it looks like a great time and very affordable!

Was fun with my lady. Got some good pictures at sunset. Not expensive but a bit of a workout

There are seating areas around the lagoon however you will have deal with the ant infestation, and folks with mental health issues. No playgrounds at this park. Check out Bixby Park on Ocean and Cherry ave.
History Located north of Shoreline Drive, between Shoreline Village Drive and Linden Avenue, this park is the remnant of Rainbow Lagoon by Auditorium Park before the lagoon was filled for the Long Beach Arena. Rainbow Lagoon is designed in a traditional Japanese style with two connected islands and surrounding park with high arched "rainbow bridges." The area is turf, with accenting trees. The Hyatt Hotel built its pool deck to the Lagoon edge. Rainbow Lagoon is filled with seawater, and maintained at park level, above sea level, through pumps. The pumps and tide gates were replaced in 2004.
Okay
there aren't tables, but plenty of nice open grass for a picnic!
