With no shade, it was hot. First time there so we didn't know what to expect. Sure, there were trees and a bit of a breeze, but it was for a concert so there was a lot of competition for the limited shade.

A super cool spot. We paddled out of here for an Outrigger Competition. I guess it also serves as a wake board and ski boat strip.

The best place to work out! 🙂 group fitness classes pretty much every day (by Long Beach Boot Camp and other groups). I think there is a church there in Sundays and Farmer's Market on Wednesdays. Good for picnicking (grass with beautiful trees that offer shade) and teaching your young ones how to bike, roller skate and more (lot is spacious and not busy).

I have a 24' power boat, and I don't know the differences between launching power and sail boats. But, to your question there are three public boat launches, two on the 2nd street side of marine stadium, and one across the way next to the 2nd street bridge near where 2nd street intersects with PCH. The launches are big and spacious in my opinion. I wouldn't sail in the actual stadium, and there are a couple of bridges under which you have to go in the marina to get to the ocean, though the only one you must go under is pretty tall, so I don't think you'll have a problem. I see people in sail boats in the marina all the the time, some in some really big sailboats, but, frankly, I'm not sure I've ever seen someone launch a sailboat there. Hope this helps.
We always sit on the east side but all the racing is done for the weekend. They'll be back again next year. It's normally the first weekend in Augy. They had to change it this year due to some permii issues.
