Completely unassuming and I bet most locals have walked past this theatre without thinking twice. Inside of its doors though are many hidden treasures- historic and artistic! Significant treaty signings and amazing masterpieces can be found inside of the grand wooden doors. Jump on the $7 tour that starts at the symphony to experience the wonders

Enjoyed the Summer Solstice Symphony Concert tonight here - first time visit - to support Swords to Plowshares. WOW! What a gorgeousness venue and fantastic acoustics! Don't miss it! And when you step outside afterward, you're met with STUNNING SF City Hall lit up.. perfect!

Civic Center has inexpensive underground parking lot by Polk St. Street parking us a hit or miss. On weekdays do not park on spot reserved for City officials, unless after hours. See posted signs.

Just down on Market street. From Herbs Theatre turn right on Van Ness and keep going straight. Bar station is located right on corner of Van Ness and Market. Safe trip home.

That wasn't a question, but there are quite a few restaurants just a couple of blocks up Van Ness from Herbst.
No food on site but great restaurants about the neighborhood. When I am working production for events at tge Herbst I go next door to Max's Opera House and get catering for cast/band and priduction and do food buyouts for others.
There are 2 good hotels near Herbst Theatre: Whitcomb, .4 mi., 1231 Market St and Hilton San Francisco, .9 mi., 333 O'Farrell.
