This place used to be very good, but since the construction of the past few years.. it is now great! They kept everything that was right about the old grounds, but simply enhanced the existing pathways/grounds or added even more beauty. Wonderful new plantings and expanded parking. This almost never happens; a beloved place gets a make over and totally keeps the soul of the original. One of our favorite birdy hikes in the area. Thank you!

We were there for a little geocaching and a bathroom break but ended up walking through the entire wetlands. Great experience. Really well done

Lots of wild lives! Do bring binocular! I went today with nice weather and pleasant temperature! About 1 hour long round trip trail. You might want to bring folding chairs to find a good spot to enjoy nice sunshine and observe beautiful nature!

Great nature walk around the wetlands. Plenty of wildlife everywhere you look. Bring your binoculars, camera, and patience. Lots of sitting areas to just listen to the quiet while watching the musk rats wander around.

2/01/2020 Road still blocked and gated. As of late this afternoon the road was beginning to show through above the water 200-300 yards south of the entry to the public parking lot! Not likely to change much with additional rain forecast!

Because the wetlands are a nature preserve there are signs posted "no dogs" (or bikes) because they can disturb the birds and animals. I'm not sure how that squares with the legalities of service animals, though. There's a nonprofit that supports it called Fernhill Wetlands Council and it's operated by Clean Water Services. You could contact either of them and check.
