Before her death, my mother had pre-arranged to have her ashes interred at Woodlawn in the Garden Sanctuary, as seven of her family members had before (going back to 1938). Based on our experience, she will be the last of our family to be buried at Woodlawn. I made an appointment with Woodlawn for the interment, indicating that there would be three people coming. When we arrived, after nearly an hour of driving, the woman who had made the appointment "wasn't able to be there," that "Oh, no, you were told that there would not be a ceremony, it was just an appointment for paperwork," and "it wouldn't be possible at all to perform the ceremony that day." Reluctantly, I rescheduled for the following week and was told: "someone will help you" (no specific name given, though I asked). Before arriving for that second appointment, I called to confirm the appointment, and was asked, "Can you make it later?" I said no, we were on the way already. Once we arrived, we had to wait for some time before being taken for the interment. There was no indication from Woodlawn that this was one of the most momentous days in our family's life. Except for the nice woman at the front desk, who helped me locate all of our ancestors, the people at Woodlawn were dismissive and inattentive. It seems they are in the business strictly for the money.

My mom was very close to dying, and my family did not want to leave her bedside to go and plan a funeral. They came to my mom’s house to plan the funeral. As soon as Blanca left, we were able to be with my mom. She passed away 15 minutes later. I will always be so grateful for the funeral home for giving my family the opportunity to be with my mom when she passed away. During the wake, they were amazing. My mother had a lot of guests paying their respects. They accommodated us by opening up another area. After the funeral, Monica is still assisted us with things we needed to do. Woodlawn Funeral Home is truly one of a kind. Thank you for being there for my family.

Selina, Alex, Jimmy and Elaine at Woodlawn Memorial are so amazing. I can't say enough about them. They were so patient and professional with us as we were trying to get our beloved mothers burial and service finalize. It was because of them that everything was amazing.
