Just facts. Farmers market on Wednesday and Sunday otherwise filled with homeless individuals and stolen goods black market. There is a public restroom and an entrance to BART. Around the corner just across the plaza on McAllister Street is very nice bakery. If you want to save money I recommend to visit farmers market closer to the end because they trying to sell everything and prices going down considerably. There also a stand with bank card exchange to farmers coins if you forgot to bring some cash. If you have EBT even better, for every 30$ exchanged to coins you'll get 30$ dollars extra. Bargain!

Cheapest produce at markets in the area. Yerena farms has the best strawberries and raspberries around. Really lovely vendors here and lots of organic products at a lower cost.

This is a "True" farmers market where actual farmers our selling their produce. Not the now a days Yuppie markets that have little to no connection with what they are selling or charging you $6 for a tomato because they claim it is organic. The farmers are wonderful here - friendly and happy to tell you with pride about their farms. The location is not fancy or "in" but you get good value for your money. Yes, the draw back is the homeless within blocks but it is also home to a wonderful City Hall homeless village that is clean and safe.

Conveniently located in the city center right next to Civic Center Bart Station, Heart of the City Farmers Market is a great place to buy fruits and vegetables from. The prices here are reasonable. The quality of the produce found here varies quite a bit, some shops sell pretty mediocre or fruits. There is also a fish stall that sets up pretty late, so if you're looking to buy some fish, do not go too early.

There is limited street parking via meters in the neighborhood. Suggest parking in the Civic Center garage ~2 blocks away if you don‘t want to use BART or Muni.
They do offer tokens and there are different types. Not sure about discounts for the "cash value" tokens, but they also have WIC or other benefit program tokens that only work for fresh produce. If you're one one of those programs you can pay with EBT.
Year-round baby. We're in California. There is always something being harvested right?
Ms Brody , Yes...The farmers market will be open Easter Sunday ,opening at 7:00 AM! I expect it may be smaller by a third as some vendors will most likely take the day to observe the religious nature of the day as to closing time ( normally,5:00PM) I imagine any number of farmers, knowing the day ...will bring lighter truck loads with the intent to get home early to their families/worship.Best of the equinox to you...A.V.Greenlee
Hello Wayne, Cipponeri Farms is typically at the market on Sundays.
Yes! Twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays starting at about 7am.
Hello Jose, I wanted to clarify that we do accept EBT. We match your EBT dollar for dollar up to $30 per month. (If you were to take out $30 on your EBT card we would give you an additional $30, giving you $60 to spend at the market.)
The only safe practicing that I noticed was that some of the vendors had their merchandise in clear plastic bags.
