I used to love living here. But the new manager has completely ruined this place. Utilities being charged 3 months after the date listed on the bill, no response from the office if you have questions about why. I recieved a bill saying it was due September 7th, in my email on September 8th. I'd suggest renting elsewhere if you have a choice.

In 2009, a 2nd/1ba was $565 a month! After 3 years, they raised the rent to 1050 without making any upgrades. Their office person forgot to deposit my rent check, I got an eviction notice only for their sleazy lawyer to offer me two weeks to move out after he discovered my rent payment was in their office drawer the whole time. 4 years later, I was applying for an apartment and was denied because I had an eviction on my record and apparently still owed them "last month rent". (which I paid before I could even get another apartment)They sent it to collections too! It took over a month for them to remove the account in collections and I had to have an official letter from their management to prove the eviction was expunged. The eviction still shows on my rental record. I now have to keep their letter forever and show it each time.

My now husband and I moved into Center Plaza back in 2012 mostly because of the proximity to Cedar Hills Blvd and Beaverton Transit Center. Back then the price for our 2br/1ba apartment was pretty decent, $745. Doable for what we were getting. Now let me break down what we were getting. In this particular apartment we had bright yellow damaged counter tops; there was a large burn mark on the kitchen counter and the bathroom counter was just kind of falling apart on the edges. Anything other tenants left on the walls were just painted over, thumbtacks and nails and things like that. The shower walls were painted over with white latex paint making them impossible to clean, and it would chip off pretty easily revealing the original fiberglass underneath which would have been preferable. Our stove was from the early 60's, puke green in color with buttons to choose the heat level (but you really only had one choice). The kitchen wall must have had some sort of repair because there was a visible square taken out, replaced and painted over. The front door wasn't fitted correctly so you could see big strips of light through it when the stairwell light was out (which was like half the time). Our heating bill in the winter was through the roof and that was a big reason why. Well, that and the windows where you could feel a chill when the wind blew hard. Neighbors would, of course, come and go and I had my share of loud upstairs and side neighbors. Had to call the cops once because I heard a lady screaming like she had been beaten. That was a couple months after the cops knocked on my door and asked if I had heard anything like that. So, yeah, not a great place to live if you like a safe neighborhood. The management was difficult to work with. You'd think after living there for three years they would have some sort of "normal wear and tear" understanding when you move out but they charged us for parts of the apartment just being a little dusty. Their management also seems to have a tenuous grasp on tenant laws. We had a situation at the beginning of my husband's deployment where we needed a little more time to pay rent (we notified them as soon as we realized) and even though the Soldiers and Sailors Civil Relief Act protects us in that situation they still threatened to evict us. Once she realized that she would be in a reaaaaally bad spot if she had really tried to do that she backed off. Still, that's super fun to deal with when you're already dealing with deployment for the first time. Now for the final straw and why we moved out. For all of that, the 60's era appliances and shoddy workmanship all around the apartment, they tried to jack our rent from the $860 we were paying on our third lease up to $1020 at the LOWEST lease rate and $1270 month-to-month. They like to say that it's all based on the area value and whatever but we found BRAND NEW apartment complex a half mile away that was finished this year with brand new appliances and the whole nine yards for $1250 for a 2br/1ba. No apartment at Center Plaza even comes close to the quality of our new apartment and we're probably paying less than some people still living there. I couldn't believe how much they wanted for that apartment. Bottom line, it's an okay first apartment but do some research on the other complexes in the area. Chances are you'll find something better. We were fine living at Center Plaza when rents were under $1000 but it's definitely not worth it nowadays.

AWFUL place to live. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT! The management at this complex is horrid and don't even bother calling CTL management to talk with Jacqueline to address a problem on a higher level if its not resolved with management-she is just as ignorant as the people running the place! I called her because there was a notice on my door because i was "storing" a hookah on my back porch, when it was NEVER stored there (why the hell would i store something on my porch so it can get stolen?!) i was always in attendance and i never left it out there for any period of time. i called the management here and they suggested i smoke in the apartment...WHAT?!?! Two weeks after i made that call to see if smoking in our apartment is an acceptable thing to do (seems odd seeing how that's just gross)and two weeks later i get a termination of tenancy after living here for 6 years. with no reason the dip ---- man in the office said the owners want the property back. these people are awful to have as management and i'll see to it every single site has this information so people can make an informed decision prior to moving here! We had no water on 5 separate occasions due to crappy pipes that still aren't replaced and idiotic planning. There are people who come and blow leaves all over back porches and blow crap all over the cars. There is NO hot water it gets lukewarm at best. We paid rent on time and the office man said we didn't and charged us a late fee, ALWAYS get a receipt from these sneaky caniving selfish b*tches. I can almost never park in my spot because the two idiots beside me cant park straight. management does nothing. I complained about the people waking my children up at night and during the day for 7 months to the management and resorted to calling the police and still the staff did nothing to assist us in resolving the issue so I finally told them i would get a lawyer and within a week the neighbors were moved to a different apartment in the complex. How ironic. Don't leave the laundry room when you do laundry because people go thru your things and steal them. The appliances are ancient, the counters are painted over and the cabinets have never been replaced. They have glass doors for the closet in the bedroom and i have small children and while i was in the room with them one of the glass doors fell on my two year old son and shattered i told them i wanted the doors taken out (they never stay on the track anyway) and they are going to try and charge me $200 because of the shattered glass door! maybe i should send them the doctor bill since they don't have adequate door tracks to secure the closet doors! There was a guy below me making meth in his apartment....that was awesome. CRIME CENTRAL. NOISE IS A HUGE ISSUE. IGNORANCE AND SELFISHNESS OF THE STAFF IS UNACCEPTABLE. TWO FACED -------. THEY ARE AWFUL AND OVER PRICED FOR WHAT THIS PLACE OFFERS. GO DOWN THE ROAD AND PAY $50 MORE FOR KIND OFFICE STAFF AND PROMPT SERVICE. The maintenance people are friendly.
