I went on this Friday happy hour train ride with a large group of women. The staff was friendly and patient. We got a group discount that included drinks. The inside cars are air conditioned. The restrooms are small like a greyhound bus or so but manageable. The music 🎶 is lively and current. We danced 💃🏿 and had a great time!! The drinks were .

A friend and I did the 2 hour weekender express and we had so much fun! The scenery is part of the river and lots of farmland. The train itself was very well kept and the bathrooms were clean. The open air cars were very fun and the closed ones were also really cool and had AC. Every staff member we met was super friendly! The music was a mix of party anthems and some oldies like love shack. My one comment about the drinks (which were large pours and a great selection) is that these are a lot of the same brands you can buy at the grocery store.

What an awesome experience! Visited the River Fox train for an Easter event for the kids this past Sunday. I've been on similar events on the Sacramento train museum and I really think River Fox presents a much better experience. Keep in mind, these are a bit more pricey but this is the most fun I've had on this type of events that are family oriented. First thing is that this trip was not as busy as I expected and it was nice to go on a Easter event that wasn't completely packed to the gills. The train was half full and the staff was really accommodating. While there wasn't exactly too many activities it was nice to just walk around on the train and the kid to enjoy walking around and staring out the windows. It's true that it is as picturesque as something like the Napa Valley wine train. It was still an awesome experience on this hour train ride. There was an Easter Bunny that walked around and we were able to get pictures. There was also a concession stand a bar tender that offered a bottomless mimosa package. Of course I partook in this option and it contributed to my enjoyment. Shout out to the bar tender who had just started the week before (I believe his name was Tyler, I'm bad with names haha) and he really made the experience more enjoyable. After the train ride, there was the park were the kids got even more enjoyment with a bounce structure, sack racing and some various smaller games around. Some paid and some free, my kids got a couple hours of enjoyment out of the park and they have a concession stand that serves food. Great visit and hope to try out their other events!

My family had a great time. We did a small birthday party on the train, we got 6 cupcakes, birthday song, and birthday strings. My daughter enjoyed it a lot. Staff was super friendly. You can buy alcohol and snacks. Plenty of space. Only negative is, I wish it went further. At least to Downtown or West Sac. After the train ride, each passenger got a sand bag with hidden gems. The kiddos love that experience. They had lots of fun. Bring mosquito repellent if you are doing the train ride during the months of Nov, Dec, Jan and Feb. the sun goes down quick and mosquitoes were out. We got a few bites 😭, wish we knew beforehand. Overall, great experience.

We took the grandkids on this ride. It was all very enjoyable. Condiments are reasonably priced.
Short answer: Yes. Long answer: they don't really circle. At a certain point in the trip you stop, get off of them, and the crew uses a device to turn them around.
Yes
Must have reservations. No exceptions.
Hi Deborah, The Sacramento RiverTrain does not offer cruise excursions. Only train and railbike excursions. There are some train excursions that offer meals. Right now our train is not able to operate due to Yolo County ordinances, but we're hoping to open soon in Phase 4 of the Resilience Road Map. We have gift cards available to purchase on our website so you can book as soon as we open! Just visit: sacramentorivertrain.com Thank you! The Sacramento RiverTrain Team
Depends on if you have food. Food is good but not a big dinner more like a lunch. Band can make or break the fun and the one we had on train was very repetitive sounding. It was something we wanted to do but would only do once.
https://www.sacramentorivertrain.com/calendar/?fh-u=df6e727e-65a0-4ddd-b27f-7b9be4142f52 This is the calendar for the events. Prices vary depending on the type of train ride you are interested. (Picnic, murder mystery, beer train, etc..)
Ours was about 3 hours and the price was around $50, well worth it we took a western trip and drinks were pretty reasonably priced
Depends on the event. Check the website for specific tours
Take I-5 to the Reed Ave exit, take Reed to N. Jefferson ave. Go left and it will take you right to the train. There are signs.

A nice multi course diner & wine as you go down the river. The menu changes seasonally so check the website for current food.
Depends what kind of ride you want to take. It can be any where from $25 for Christmas train to over $100 for the Valentine's diner & wine train ride.
Kind of, the path is a lot of gravel but I think they have parking closer & onto the train I know they have a lift & accessible seating
Goes down the river if you get on by old Sacramento. The woodland one just goes to the wetlands at the cosway.
