Very nice municipal campground right on the river. Clean bathrooms and showers. Level sites. Water and electric hookup and dump station. Free WiFi. We will be back. Close to I 70 but quiet.

We found this place in 2009 and marked it incase we were ever in this area again. And yes we are here again. Absolutely love this cities little park. And they added 9 more sites! Perfect little place to camp or relax from a trip. Power and water with a dumpsite. Super cool little lake with lots of huge shade trees. The city of Ellis did a wonderful job. Thank you for this oasis.❤❤ Everyone here in this town should be very proud of this park.

Scenery was nice, glad that they had showers, but the facilities were a little run down. Generally clean except for the millions of bugs both alive and dead in the restroom/shower areas.

Great place to camp for the night. Large easy pull thru sites. Excellent location right on the water. Well maintained. Very safe, local police patrol passed by a couple of times. Wifi that is much better than any RV park we have stayed at and paid extra for ‘premium’. Whomever is responsible for this campground and the amenities, bravo.

Definitely not on site. We only stayed one night, not sure what town had to offer, but it looked big enough to have a laundromat.

Is there any place I can camp without paying?

Unfortunately, free camping is pretty much a thing of the past. Spaces with hook ups generally run $20-30 plus park entry fees, so Ellis is a bargain at $20 total. I'm not sure what the rates are for tent camping.

We were there a year ago, don't recall having WiFi, might be one that doesn't need a password. I know this may not help, I would just ask another camper

Are there any pull thru sites?

Pam Pickle | Jan 4, 2019
William Schottler | Jan 5, 2019

Note, due to utilities in one place for adjoining sites you'll pull thru from street side or go around and pull thru from lakeside. Sites 1 and 2 only 30 amps other electric sites up to 50.
