The staff is great and there are rarely any lines. They also have free delivery.

Horrible - COVID destroyed the pharmacy. Please, please do not choose Medical center pharmacy #9!!!!**** To start the are closed weekends and only open until 5:30pm during the week. They used to be amazing, although 6 months ago the head pharmacist , Mark left for a new job. Now they have brought in a new head pharmacist, whom has everything extremely unorganized. Alonso, the front desk payment processor, is more concerned about his social life texting his friends than focusing on you’re needs. You have to raise your voice to get him to pay attention. For the last 6 months, you cant even anyone on the phone at the pharmacy to have your medications refilled. 5 days before my standard refills I get in the car and call the pharmacy, while drive the 8 miles to the pharmacy. Not once in the last 6 months have they picked up prior to me arriving in order to make sure the preorder every medication in, and clearly understand what medication you need. If you do leave a message requesting a refill the medication does not get ordered in, if it is out of stock. Most of the time they fill the medication at the time of arrival. I am on 8 medications due to serious medical issues, and every month there is a major issue and nothing is ready the same day. They always forget to order one or two medications. This causes a problem with insurance, because then the following month you are refilling some of your medications early due to the staggered prior months pick up date. At the current time I was placed on a tier 3 medication, which required a “prior authorization” from the doctor. It’s not common for a pharmacy to have in stock. The insurance company approved the prior authorization 8 days ago, and faxed the pharmacy approval to fill immediately. They ordered the medication yesterday, which is 7 days after ordered to fill. On top of that I called on day 2 and left a message on the head pharmacist’s direct voicemail. On top of that on day 5 I requested the refill agin on their app. They make it impossible. Again this pharmacy was the best in San Diego pre-COVID, but now it is horrible. They have put me in the hospital 2x in the past 6 months from not having my vital medications ordered in when requested, with multiple requests. I am filing a complaint with The California Medical Board, and the DEA, because they are going to end up causing a patient to die, due to their lack of organization, actions, and duties to the patient. Please be careful before choosing this pharmacy. It is no longer what it once was. The past great reviews, one from my other Yelp account are no longer relevant. I will say the ladies in the back are wonderful, and working their hardest. Corporate just has them so understaffed resulting in neglect, which will cause you a medical emergency! Tom L

They didn't have the full amount of my meds and were unable to fill my prescription. Nice inside though, somewhat friendly staff. They have cute greeting cards for 99c a piece.

You're not walking into a pharmacy. It's more like you're visiting friends. I look forward to my visits to p/u my meds. Not only that but like friends, they handle me with kid gloves which is great since I can get intense at times. So shout out to Esteban, Lily, Alma, Federico, Will and Peter who was laid-off which sucks. I don't know what Sabrina Farrow's (previous review) problem is considering she writes "every time I'd go to pick up my mother's medication it was inconsistent in smell, texture and I found it not to be clean". My question would be, so how many times were "every time I picked up my mother's medication"? Once would be enough for me. I'd never jeopardize my mom's health if I suspected something was wrong and yes, I too saw the complaints against the owners and some of their facilities but Medical Center Pharmacy on Park Blvd is clear to operate without any restrictions according to the CA State Board of Pharmacy. Of course you left that fact out. CVS got snagged too and settled for $22 million and people go there all the time. Sounds like someone's being a bit vindictive considering you posted negative reviews on 3 locations when you've been only to 2 of the 3, and failed to mention Medical Center Pharmacy on Park Blvd's vindication.
