This is a beautiful place, great food and amazing jazz music. Mr Bob Popescu, the heart and soul of the place truly created a magical jazz place for all wandering souls, from all places of the world.

We had a great experience! We were greeted and served with class. Great venue to listen to live music. I like that it is intimate and the tables are close together. Just like a typical jazz club you would see back in the 30s/40s. It was nice to be surrounded by people who just wanted to have a good time. We even got to dance in the small open spaces!

The Catalina is THE place to see world class jazz performers in LA. I've been to three shows here and every time the performance was incredible. From Dr. Art Davis and his legendary double bass to Arturo Sandoval and his screeching solos, you can find all styles of jazz here. The food is delicious, and the drinks are strong. There's not a bad seat in the building and the staff works swiftly without being a distraction to the performance.

My friend took me for my birthday. I knew it was not for me. Nothing against the musians. I just don't care for jazz. The seats are to close to other people. The tables to small. My drink had no flavor. Food to expensive for the quantity. Couldn't wait to leave. The service is nice.

There is an attached parking structure. Entrance on Macaden
I guess Luanne is a filler. Once in a while the Catalina will insert some guests just to fill up their calendar. I don't worry about that. For the most part they have some great acts. Recently I saw Maysa and also Oz Noy with feature guest drummer, Dave Weckl. We had a great time.
We usually arrive an hour or more before the show, we have a drink before we order dinner. After dinner we may have desert and or coffee. We like to make a night of celibration and fun conversation. With 6 go early and enjoy each other before the show. These are the moments that give meaning to everything else you do, enjoy.
My aunt Betty Bryant just had her 80 th B Day there and can you believe she still Performs on her Birthday. That was in Nov. So Yes is the Answer.
You are correct. They serve food, but not sure if open for that on days no show. I've only gone when there's a show
Yes, but if it's a crowded venue , you may want to make a reservation.
Best route is probably 101 to Hollywood or Sunset, but use Google Maps or Waze for timely directions.
Yes, the club allows all ages
Partking is next door. And other different options too
No, as long as you're fully vaccinated (first original set) you're good. A recommendation: have your proof of vaccination ready at the door to make the line go faster.
I would if the person that you want to see is very popular
Seat near the stage, no drink minimum
You should call the venue regarding the line up...but I've never heard of him
As long as they are available, yes. I suggest you call the club and see if you can verify ticket availability and make a dinner reservation. Have fun!
There is music most night of the week. Look up catalinajazzclub.com for more info.
I don't think it would be a problem getting your money refunded. My experience at check in has been a very positive and customer-friendly one.
How many times a year? because I visited the website and it seems that until the month of December there is no nothing
You're going to have a great time. Its one of the best small venues for live music..
You enter on the west side of the building, right through the parking structure. That's the safest and most convenient. But, yeah, structures all around and, If you arrive early, you can even park on the street.
They have an online calendar....I believe ticket prices are there as well ...also keep In mind you have to purchase dinner also...
You should call the club and ask them
Yes, great JAZZ CLUB LOVED IT,and awesome food and service
I would call just to verify and go early because I learned seats are first come first serve. So for good seats and free parking
I would never go there without a reservation. They seat based on your position in line and I believe reservation first also. I think you can make a reservation over the phone so why would you not make one.
We always get there about 60 minutes before the door opens. The club opens at 7:00 and shows start between 8:00 and 9:30. This allows the possibility of free street parking that starts at 6pm. The line at the door is accessible via the parking and not out front on the street. We have never been first in line but always got a great seat. We have been offered front row seats almost every time but rather sit a row or two back and always love our choice.
Reservations are recommended here. I usually get my tickets through Goldstar and my name automatically is added to a list. So while technically I have not called for a reservation, in essence I have one.
N McCadden, you can enter from the parking garage through the courtyard.
