Went here to have a bit of a get away and star gaze, bought a day pass online right there thru my phone and it seemed to have lasted thru the night just fine, no posted times of when it was closed, we left around 12am. Can't beat bathrooms and picnic tables surround by mountains and woods

Nice picnic area adjacent to the Pacific Crest Trail with great views out over Anza Borrego SP. Nice approx. 0.5 mile (one way) hike through conifer woodland and clearings down to NE corner of Burnt Rancheria campground (if you head left 100-200ft after the trail ends at the campground, you could make a loop by returning up a section of the PCT)

Beautiful mountain, beautiful picnic area. View is awesome. The fire department is close by, some cute coffee shops and tavern are around.You need to buy the pass though for the picnic site. 30 box for one year. Very worthy it to run away from the city and the crowd :)

This is the place to be! Desert views and pines... What a spectacular contrast! definitely highly recommended however I should note that a parking permit must be secured ahead of time.
