Super fun. These statues are huge. It was an adventure just finding them as they are all over and on different roads.

The sculptures are amazing. The amount of detail is incredible. The road getting there is rough at times. But absolutely worth the drive. The serpent alone is worth the drive. And it's free

Went in the evening to get some cool sunset shots. It was 105 degrees at 7:30pm. About 1 hr 45m from SD. But once you get there, it’s fun to see all the art work spread out. We didn’t find all of them

As of Feb 2021 yes its open
State Highway Dept is your best bet. I'm not sure how much rain they get around there. I'm guessing not much.
No rules posted. Cars drive on semi-packed sand. It might not be easy walking, yet you cold carry one.
Per the Desertusa website The late Dennis Avery, land owner of Galleta Meadows Estates in Borrego Springs envisioned the idea of adding 'free standing art' to his property with original steel welded sculptures created by 'Perris Jurassic Park' owner/artist/welder Ricardo Breceda based in Perris, California. There are over 130 metal sculptures located in Borrego Springs. Read more: https://www.desertusa.com/borrego/bs-art.html#ixzz5nN58aRu4
I was there on 9/13/20 and they were closed.
We went last week on Thursday and it was closed 🙁
Yes. Visitors Center. You can get a map. Also online. But it's fun just to drive around and happen upon them Google it and there are maps
I dont know but the sculptures are pretty much on the side of the road and in the open desert. If I had to guess, i would say yes, just keep them on a dog leash and you should be okay.
It is free
There are no regulations against it to my knowledge. The sculptures are dispersed throughout the town and around Borrego Springs and there are private Parcels in between that include residences SoBe respectful t of their privacy
