I’d suggest hiring people who at least appear to care about their jobs and the customer. Me: I’m looking to build a small stone patio around a tree. What do you recommend? Him: (on his phone) Well, whatever you want. Me: OK (provide a bit more detail)… Him: any sand stone Me: OK, and what material should that go on? Him: There are many options. Me: Yes, can you tell me about them. Him: There are so many options… I would have walked out spending at least $1K if someone had taken a few minutes to help me out. Suggest doubling your pay and finding good people.

We needed to replenish our vegetable planting bed and had great service today at American Soil in Richmond. I called in our order and picked it up the same day in the parking lot. It was super easy and economical.

Great selection of soils, had four yards delivered. Guy shows up in this giant truck driving it like had driving it since dropping out of his mom's womb. Left that pile on target, still warm and streaming from their yards. Good service, good soil. Stone looks very nice as well, but I didn't get any of it. There are also soil samples that you may fondle of you like. And there was a gentleman there to answer your questions regarding soil. He must be the Gandalf of soil or something like that.
