A great deal on some items, slightly lower or average price others. But there is limited selection compared to the major grocery stores. Overall I would say if you shop carefully you can shave 30% off your regular grocery bill by shopping here.

There are some seriously good bargains at this store, especially for the San Francisco location. I will try to exhaust this store before going to Safeway. They appear to have a meaningful Latin / Hispanic section.

There are non service dogs off leash seemingly every hour each day. I'm surprised the health department hasn't cited and shut this place down for egregious health code violations. The management thinks the dogs are cute, and the owner Erik Lüttschlager has been deaf to complaints. The items are unusual and change seemingly hourly or daily. At any given time, but especially after 5 pm, the store is inundated and the checkout lines are endless. The vitamin and organic aisles have high prices, the nongmo, organic produce is hit or miss and the vegan products are far and few between. Buyer beware and wary.

There are candles, sometimes birthday candles in the miscellaneous home goods peg racks.
I've left several messages, written letters and even sent a copy of the letters to the owners in the East Bay over the years. Apparently nobody is too moved to act or unconcerned about this public health issue.
I was at grocery outlet yesterday and they have no senior discounts,they're already at the lowest prices.Hope this answers your question ....
