Just went to my first show there, and wow, the acoustics, lighting, and artists there were all amazing. However, a group was seated behind me, that proceeded to pull cans of their own alcohol out of their bags, and at least one removed their mask despite SFJazz's apparent stringency on Covid precautions. Throughout the entire show they continued to chat and laugh amongst themselves, even kicking my seat several times. An usher was nearby behind us, but the situation was not addressed. Very disappointed to have such a poor experience in a venue like this - I am reaching out to SFJazz about this, and hoping that this was just a one-off, because I already have tickets for another show in September. EDIT: Since SFJazz has reached out and the staff was otherwise very helpful, I've updated my review to 5 stars which I believe they'd deserve if it weren't for the other disruptive guests. I will update again if I run into more issues at future shows, but I think they deserve benefit of the doubt since all other aspects of the show were great.

Super cute little entertainment spot (mainly for pictures). It's only 4 rooms, cool rooms but I wish there was more to see. I didn't think the price is fair for what they have to show. But it was nice to see what they do have & my kids enjoyed it. Probably won't be going back unless it's for photo taking.

There are no bad seats in either theaters. The acoustics bounce well wherever you sit. The ushers are kind, and many knowledgeable. There are 3 bars inside and B side is right next door if you're really that needy of libations the bars inside aren't equipped for. The terrace on the 2nd floor overlooks the street and heckle all you want as one might in New Orleans. I came to hear Chris Potter, he was fine, very fine, the singer - well, it was a pick up group. The digital art dancing on the walls add amusement, it vibes more of a lecture series than jamming at a jazz hall. I only wished they could dim the lights a bit and perhaps I'm just wishing for Keystone Korner again.

This is jazz at its best! Clearly the best live jazz performance I have witnessed, with an array of beats. The atmosphere was phenomenal and truly one of a kind

Sorry I was not there. Call SFJ on Monday.
There is the performing arts garage on Grove Street. A 2 block walk. Also there are 3 parking lots near by. 2 at Oak and Franklin and another one on Oak near Market. A very short walk to SFJAZZ.
Please call SF Jazz, they should be able to answer your question.
Several...within walking distance which is great since parking is a challenge. I recommend checking out open table or yelp for reviews of restaurants that are close by SF Jazz. It's been a while since I've walked the area but the neighborhood is lively and there are so many options for dining.
No food in SF Jazz itself, but B St. Bistro is nextdoor, and many other restaurants within 4 block radius.
Yes, but no beverages are allowed into the auditorium
There's various parking lots around for a fee of course,, we can usually find street parking in the evening if you don't mind searching a bit.
12/2021 currently SFJAZZ is requiring Full Vaccination, photo ID that matches the vaccination proof and everyone is wearing a mask. Unvaccinated people will not be allowed inside.
there was one live concert a few weeks ago - Omar Sosa, was great! also, 5 outdoor concerts at Frost Amphitheater thru July - take a look at their website sfjazz.org I understand the next season is planned with normal in-theater program!
This is limited. Travel Lodge is walking distance. We recommend doing a search in advance. Some hotels are nicer than others.
Underground parking inn frontof civic Center. Check out closing time.
Generally safe. As with many parts of SF you may see people on drugs or cars broken into, but shouldn't affect you especially if you hide your valuables.
Street parking.. it can be tough trying to find parking especially on Friday and Saturday night..you might have to circle the block a few times would suggest giving Urself extra time just for parking
I usually go to a bar/restaurant to get good food and a decent cocktail. There is plenty of unhealthy food options at the festival...I mean TONS of options. Wine and beer can be found at all stages but the quality is not the same everywhere. You can always leave the secured area to find some good grub - the bracelet allows in and out entrance.
They are usually around 2hrs
Check the website www.sfjazz.com
google "great jazz clarinetist", see what commonly appears...their algor.is quite fascinating....for a google user.
