I was recently there. Sent after a hospital stay to which I required IV antibiotics and PT. While the staff was nice I developed a blood clot, an inscion on a surgical site opened to which the nurses kept telling me they won't re close the surgical site it's fine it's fine. It got infected. I ended up in the hospital again with a blood clot needing surgery on that site and a UTI. I was constantly emailing the head of PT because the PT was so bad. After needing to go back to the hospital I did not return there. Im Sure if I was not cognitive I would have been worse off.

This place is a nightmare. Do not send your loved ones to this place. Pretty chandelier and all, but all for the show. The nurses and staff member do not care. They have no communication skills. The nurses never call you back even after multiples messages. When you walk into the facility they don't make you feel welcome. Mostly everyone has an attitude and when you asked them for an update about your loved one they seem irritable. On December 31st, I found my dad half way undress, no blanket, dehydrated and confused. When I asked the nurses why my father was halfway undress without a blanket (shivering) and when was the last time he had something to drink, none of the nurses or staff could answer my questions. I told one of the nurses to check his vitals and my father's blood pressure was low and had to be sent out to the hospital. Three days prior to this incident my father was complaining about his neck and back hurting and after multiples calls and request for him to be evaluated by a doctor (never met the doctor or got a call from any of them), all they provided him with was with an extra dose of pain med. The nurse that was on that shift told me he was going to get x-rays, but they never provided me with the results, not sure if they even did the x-rays. The nurse never called me to give me an update. December 31st, my father was transferred to the hospital and after multiple work up, the doctors at BIDMC found a pretty significant infection in his spine. They rushed him into the operating room and 2 days later my father passed away. Not sure how this place is even open. In addition to all of this, the staff would take long periods of time to assist him to the bathroom. He would have accidents and he sat on it for long periods of time and ended up with an opening on his bottom. My father couldn't get up on his own. The reason he ended up at care one was because he fell and fractured his hip. While in the hospital he ended up getting covid and Care One was the only facility taking positive patients. While in the covid unit none of the staff or nurses answered any of my messages. I had to reach out to the nursing director in order to get an update. She wasn't very helpful either. They scheduled video calls, but the staff never called. I had to call multiple times and leave messages to remind them. My dad was very weak and most days he couldn't feed himself. Everyday I had to rush out of work to go feed him. During the day he would try to feed himself and I would always find him dirty. I wish my father never went to this place. This was a total nightmare.

Do not send loves ones here. Issues: 1) Poor communication with family’s. And yes the others reviews are accurate regarding how difficult to was to get a hold of someone especially in the evening. 2) many of the staff (not all) could care less about what they do. They say we don’t do that and promise to go get someone to do it…. And it never happens. 3) found pills in my mothers bed and on floor so obviously no one was making sure she took her meds. 4) cleanliness of facility was poor. The lobby and dining room that they post all the pictures from are nice but rooms are very old and dated. We found bureaus with missing handles and toilet paper holders hanging off wall, broken window blinds, etc. 5) sent my mother (against my wishes) home when I told them she was not ready and capable of caring for herself at home. Within 55 hrs of being home she fell. Four hrs later fell again and had to go to ER for stitches. Sadly my mother passed 27 days later. Please do your due diligence and research the places your loved ones are being sent to for Rehab services.

Care one Newton is amazing. The nurses and staff were wonderful. My elderly Mother landed there with covid and with all the restrictions they kept in touch with me the entire time. Someone always called me back. My mother said they were fabulous . This was a scary time for our family and they made me feel at ease and took wonderful care of my mother. I can’t thank them enough for their dedication to making sure their patients feel comfortable and cared for . If I could give them 10 stars I would !!

3000 a day full care
We are a smoke free facility, but there are stations around the building to accommodate.
My mother was there died on a Sunday and I was notified of her death on Tuesday the following week. Very poor care. Would not recommend them for my worst enemy
