Kaplan Family Hospice House (Care Dimensions)

Hi Tony, Since Kaplan House is intended as a short-stay inpatient hospice facility (equivalent to a hospital), most patients' care is covered by their insurance if they meet the eligibility of general inpatient (GIP) care set by the insurance company. In some instances, we also provide residential hospice care for a patient if they have no other suitable residence when space permits. In those cases, there is a private pay room and board charge that the patient will have to pay directly. Hi Olivia, The Kaplan House provides inpatient hospital-level hospice care and patients are admitted after an assessment of patient needs by nursing staff in collaboration with family and physicians. Inpatient care is typically needed for complex pain and symptom management that cannot be administered at home. Lengths of stay vary depending on patient needs. Some patients stay for a few days to have their symptoms managed, and then are able to go back home. While others may stay for weeks if needed and medically eligible. When beds are available, Kaplan House is also available for respite stays for home hospice patients whose caregivers need a break. I am not a clinical staff, but complex pain is typically that which cannot be managed well at home --requiring adjustments in dosages, etc. Please call 888-287-1255 for more info.

There are no CNA positions open currently at the Kaplan House, but there are 2 evening positions at our Lincoln/Waltham house.
