Barats Jewelry Repair is now my local go to for watch service. I have received estimates from "other" local watchmakers, who's cost of repair were much more expensive (estimates based without even opening up the watch). Barats service far exceeded anybody else. Local, honest, reputable, skillful and a wealth of knowledge. I brought in my vintage Swiss Tudor automatic watch and within minutes had it running like new and accurately again. He actually looked inside the watch and hooked it up to a timegrapher, before weighing out our options for service. The result, a timepiece that runs like it did brand new again, I am so thrilled. Mr. Barat was busy restringing a necklace when I arrived, but paused what he was doing to speak to me and assess my engraving request. I was asking him to put three names on a very small pendant. He thought it would be difficult, but was willing to give it a try. In the end, he fit everything on, nearly centered (two letters from different lines would have connected if he hadn't offset a little bit), and did it while I waited. He was very courteous and kept checking with me that the placement was OK. I felt his price was more than reasonable, especially for such excellent customer service. I would absolutely come back again for any jewelry repair or engraving.

I went to Barats to have my engagement ring sized. He was very responsive over Facebook Messenger, and when I went to have my ring done, he explained exactly what he was going to have to do, made sure I was comfortable with the process, and sized my ring while I waited (about 30 minutes). His price was very reasonable, and he was a pleasure to work with. Even when it was finished, I couldn't see what he had done, it was perfect!
