Its just a view of lake from the top of the mountain and good for walking or jogging but its not where you have access to lake. It was first time visit for us so we liked it but we didn’t know that lake was pretty far from here.

I hiked down the main trail to the south overlook trail and then connected with the shoreline trail. I saw deer on both the main trail and shoreline trail and also a couple of armadillo on the shoreline trail. Interestingly there are crepe myrtles and some pecan trees also on the shoreline trail. The smell of cedar was present throughout the hike which I found refreshing. I reconnected to the main trail at the end of shoreline to get back to the parking lot. It was a beautiful day right after a cool front came through so although it was in the low 90's the lack of humidity made this awesome!

Multiple trails to follow, some relatively flat and some good for a hike.

Yes in some places there are "beaches". Coves are the best spots!
Its a verry long walk to the water and shore line in limited to a few yards but yes
Gate locks at dusk. No code, you can't get in.
