** Review of Upstairs Restaurant ** AMAZING view, professional staff, but food isn’t very good. Ordered the clam chowder, firecracker sushi roll, and the rainbow sushi roll. Unfortunately the chowder wasn’t very flavourful, and the sushi didn’t taste fresh. The rice was dry and so was the seafood in it. Spoke with the host at the entrance of the main restaurant and he informed me that the upstairs has a different kitchen, and he didn’t seem too concerned when I informed him of our experience. The view of the harbour is absolutely stunning and that’s what earned them the extra star.

I have very mixed feelings about Legal. They were highly recommended in blogs, YouTube videos, and from locals. But, I was slightly disappointed with our experience. First, the location is amazing, and we were seated near the water without having to wait though we were a large party. Everyone was amiable, and our waitress was very accommodating. However, our food was nothing to brag about (except the oysters were impeccable). As you'll see in the pictures, the cheeseburger I ordered from the kid's menu was not properly cooked and was still raw inside. The mac and cheese our friends ordered (also for a child) tasted “like aspirin” or rotten cheese. Our waitress and the manager came to apologize and refunded our money for both items, which were appreciated. But, as a tourist, this isn't an establishment that I would return to when we visit again.

Excellent food and great service. We could not get a reservation but the restaurant has a great amount of bar seats for walk in traffic. We were seated immediately and had some amazing food and drinks. This restaurant sits in the harbor and the atmosphere is very relaxed and comfortable. This was our first time in Boston and the first place we ate. It set a good tone for our visit.

Our first time in Boston, first time at Legal. Maybe what I experienced is normal, I don't know. Coming from California, the prices are double what I would expect, SO you must be paying for atmosphere. This location is right on the water, and a pleasant breeze as we ate lunch made the bill more palatable. The food was good, but not $26 for fish n chips good. The burger was good but not $18 good. Like I said, maybe this is normal for Boston or just the New England area in general, I guess we will find out as we are here for 2 weeks! Server was attentive, we don't regret going, but we won't come back. Too expensive!

Melissa, there isn't fishing, but we have a koi pond in the lobby of our restaurant and a "dock" where kids can stand and watch the fish swimming. It's fun!

I went to the seaport and couldn't find a place for a late 4pm lunch without reservation. Got to walk into legal without delay and had a nice view of the harbor. Large parties or outdoor maybe best to call ahead but you can very likely walk in without issue and get a great meal

Marisa, there are many options for parking. Our validation will net you a $2/hr discount for up to 2 hours in the Park Lane Garage, across the street. (Pay the attendant at the parking booth to receive the discount.) Valet parking is available daily and during full hours of operation for $21 with our validation stamp. There's also metered parking available. And transient docking for boats is available in season at the Liberty Wharf Marina. Hope to see you soon!

I believe there are street side parking, didnt pay attention to if there were meters or not... and there is a parking lot but it is beside the harbor not directly by Legal Seafood. Hope this helps.

This is in regards to the roof deck! ----- i would look into it bc Im not vegan... BUT they have veggie sushi (sweet potatoe & i think a cucumber maybe?) plus i want to say a see weed salad and edimame!!
