A peaceful place to visit and spend a couple of hours. So sad that the Shakers are almost gone.

Very interesting. Would have enjoyed going in some of the buildings, hearing more of the history. Nice gift shop.

Fascinating way of life for the Shakers. Enjoyed walking through the village and herb garden. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Buildings gave a glimpse of what life would have been like when it was a busy community. Just off the main road, and worth checking out. Free

Shaker Village. Beautiful 225 year old buildings located in original religious colony. Won't go into Shaker beliefs and traditions here. You can Google them yourselves. Beautiful country setting, heirloom plants, herb mixes, heritage cookbooks, jams and souvenirs for sale. Tours are $10 for adults. Includes all buildings, museum and Shaker burial ground.

Hi Jess! The Shakers run an active farm with sheep and Scottish Highland cows so please make sure that your dog is on a leash and in your full control so as not to scare the farm animals. With the exception of service animals, dogs are not allowed inside or on tour. Thank you!
Hi Nancy, The Shaker Store is open on Saturdays from 10am-4:30pm until our Christmas Fair which is the first Saturday of December. The Museum and grounds are otherwise closed until Memorial Day with the exception of some special events. The Shakers' Sunday Meeting worship service is open to the public year-round, every Sunday at 10am sharp. We hope that you can join us!
